Other than the weather interrupting our plans, which is not in anyone's control ... All of the activities were great and we really enjoyed them all from Ice Cave to Lava Tunnels to Icelandic Horse back riding and all of the scenic locations. We will return to see some of these sites in the summer at some point for additional breathe taking views. Thanks for all the support from Preeti, even while on vacation, it was a nice touch of excellent service.

The hotels we stayed at were very nice and comfortable. All the staff were great. We loved our stay at the Fosshotel and Hotel Ranga( where we saw the Northern lights!) We liked Hotel Hilda too. Its was a quaint hotel near thr harbor. Overall the trip was a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended!
Sidenote: We went on a Game of Thrones tour and was really entertained by the guide. He was fabulous! Loved the inside jokes and his passion for the show. I wish I knew his real name. I just remember his facebook name: Swordbiter. I made my whole family join the tour ( only my husband and I saw the show) but they still enjoyed the tour.

Our winter trip to Iceland was amazing. Preeti helped us find great accomodations for our large family and tours we wouldn't have known about without her -- such as the only ice cave tour that allowed us to bring our 8-year-old. She was right to tell us that certain things we wanted to do would require too much driving and was able to suggest alternatives that fit our schedule better. We especially loved the dogsledding. There was one problem with the car rental when we arrived and we had to scramble to make new arrangements, but after the trip KimKim quickly helped us get a refund.

We used KimKim for our December 9 day self-drive of Iceland. I feel like we received a hotel, vehicle rental and tour booking service. This is very convenient, although I was hoping for a detailed itinerary with a realistic schedule and addresses. We were given a broad general itinerary with points of interest. We found ourselves backtracking unfortunately and took roads to keep from backtracking and ended up losing an entire day (there are just 5 hours of daylight in winter) trying to take a different route. KimKim stated that hotels were booked since we contacted them just a few weeks ahead of the trip but we passed many hotels closer to the points of interests and feel as though we spent much to much time with limited daylight driving to our hotels. The hotels booked for us were great, no complaints about the accommodations just far from where we had been sightseeing.

We had an amazing time nevertheless Iceland is gorgeous and we realize in retrospect that we could have booked the hotels etc ourselves but didn't want the hassle. The weather was fantastic. cold of course (so wear many layers) we were fortunate to never have more than a snow flurry. I highly recommend Iceland in December!

One thing worth mentioning -
We also wish that Kimkim advised us against doing both the Ice cave tour and Glacier Tour. The Ice Cave tour was a disappointment and a waste of money given the glacier hike takes you into an ice crevasse which was absolutely amazing in comparison to the cramped tourist ice "trap" - hole. I requested the Ice cave tour. Caveat - the photos online are three years old. It has since shrunken and is not at all like the images. Ice melts and changes shape!

Overall our 12 days in Iceland were excellent. We did eveything we'd included in our trip specification, although mother nature didn't deliver whales on our Laki cruise or a spectacular northern lights display. However, we did have a magnificent White Christmas experience in Siglufjörður at the Herring House, which was the highlight of the trip for me. Other highlights were:

the dog sledding with Ispiration Iceland as we all got to drive our own sleds instead of just being passengers

our private super jeep tour into Thorsmörk with Iceland Activities which got us places we could have reached by ourselves in our rental car

New Years Eve in Reykjavik with it's joyous anarchic fireworks display laid on by the public.

Apart from some confusion about the quoted price, the service provided by KimKim and their Icelandic partner Wild Westfjords was first class. They proposed an itinerary based on our wish list and made the bookings for us, which I had neither the time nor the local knowledge to do myself. Our trip may have been cheaper if I had arranged it myself, but it wouldn't have been as awesome. The extra money spent organising this trip through KimKim was a good investment in terms of time saved during the planning and booking phase, the travel experience while we were away, and the asdistance provided by Preeti and Halldor of Wild Wesfjords before and during our trip. They even answered questions posed by members of my group which we could have answered ourselves with a quick google search.

Little things did go wrong along the way, like the rental car which didn't come with the ordered GPS, the broken heating in the snow truck which took us on our Into the Glacier trip, which resulted in us spending a couple of hours sitting in a deep freeze passenger cabin in temperatures below -10C, but none of that was the fault of KimKim and Wild Westfjords.

Thank-you KimKim, Preeti and Halldor for our best holiday ever!

We had a great experience with kimkim. We were three generations wanting to do different things. Sotiria helped us figure out options and set it up so the grandparents settled in Reykjavik while parents and kids did a two day excursion into other parts of Iceland. The snorkeling in Silfra was the best adventure of the trip. We checked out all the highlights created for our tour, and following the suggestion booked some time at the Secret Lagoon which warmed us up after snorkeling. Another highlight was being at the the black beach at Vik for sunrise. All in all a spectacular trip!

Day 1: arrived and went straight to Blue Lagoon. This was a great and relaxing way to start the trip. I wouldn't have wanted to start the trip any other way. After we drove into Rrykavic. Foss hotel was great and easy to navigate from... The front desk worker was slightly rude but they had our room ready early which was very helpful. The rest of the day spent adventuring in the city.

Day 2: we left early morning to catch the waterfalls. We made it to Vik before realizing that the Volcanoes exhibit mentioned in our itinerary was actually closer to waterfalls than to Vik. So we had to back track quite a bit to make it to that. We felt the itinerary was slightly misleading for that part. As a heads up the Eyjafjalljokull exhibition will be closing on January 1, 2018. Then we drove out to Foss Nupar. Great hotel and service.

Day 3: from Nupar we drove to Skaftafell for our glacier climb. We had Maximo as a guide and he was GREAT. So much fun. Then we drove back to Vik. Another great hotel at Katla.

Day 4: left early for the golden circle. No complaints on the day. But as a general comment for your itineraries, listing the address for everything would be greatly appreciated. We had some issues finding the actual address to drive to for some of these stops.

Day 5: it was great to stay in the same hotel when we returned to Rekjavik. It made navigating so much easier!

Great trip and we will use KimKim again.

Preeti was awesome and took the time to really listen to our often contradictory instructions. The only shortcoming was when we had to drive, it wasnt clear that some of the roads were closed in winter, and we had to improvise and lost an activity deposit. Thats the only reason the entire trip wasnt 5 stars.

We could book through booking.com ourselves and accomplish the same thing, we were looking for the "smoothing" aspect using Kim Kim.
As for the suggestions of places to visit and time to allow, I think Chris did an exceptional job! All of the accommodations were perfect for our trip and the vehicle suited the terrain we were traversing.

"Nearly" perfect. Excellent response time with questions and generally a wonderful experience. A few tiny quibbles include a steep, gravel road not being adequately acknowledged in the itinerary, and a couple of aspects that seemed cut and pasted from other itineraries (to other parts of the country) rather than specific to my itinerary. But really, my complaints, a couple of months later, pale in comparison to how great the trips was for my son and me.

Preeti was so responsive to every question and concern. It was a pleasure working with her!

There was only one thing that wasn't 100% but still not bad. 2 tour companies merged in Iceland and my voucher said one company would be picking me up but it was actually the other companies bus that came and he was a bit late. That one 2-day tour had a young inexperienced guide that wasn't well organized with food and bathroom stops and didn't inform us well of all the places we went. e.g. there was one stop listed on the itinerary, kind of a big deal for that location, and he never mentioned it or took us the 50 meters on the other side of the trees to see it. I just happened to stop there with another group, unscheduled, where that guide did show us and give the story. The other 2-day guide was the best, i can't imagine having a better guide. It felt like the first guide wasn't properly trained and we were the unfortunate beneficiaries of his being new at this.

But as far as Kimkim arrangements, superb. If I see airfare sales in the future I will defiantely keep Iceland and Kimkim in mind for my plans.

I´m really glad to hear that overall, the trip was successful and you had a good time. I am really sad to hear about the inexperienced guide on one of your tours and I would like to pass that on to the tour company and discuss the matter with them, which tour was it? +
In my mind, the quality of the guide is of paramount importance and I get really upset when people have this kind of experience when travelling in Iceland.

Preeti did an amazing job. We had one issue that was not her fault, but was the fault of the guesthouse...she had great meal suggestions and also her recommendations of what to see and the tours was excellent. Again, the itinerary was worth its weight in gold...and having a place to stay at the end of a long day was a premium. Also, the restaurant suggestions were fantastic....here are a couple of my favorites...Bjargarsteinn was amazing...don't miss this one. great meal and for Iceland, reasonable...which is saying something...Sjavarborg was very good but the cowshed was fantastic, go when the cows are brought in...fresh warm milk...Humarhofnin had amazing Lobster - a must. Reykjavik has a LOT of good restaurants and Kaldi Bar for great unfiltered beers...

We also did a detour on our drive around the Island and stopped at restaurant Fridheimar - for tomato soup bread and other tomato greenhouse specialties. I would include this on the itinerary...

The Glacier Hike was awesome - we ended up with a personal guide, just my wife and I and since we were in great shape we did the 3 hour tour in about 2 and 1/2 hours...I would recommend this....

The Baths at Myvtan were awesome...as well - go at night to see northern sunset and stay for northern lights...long yes, but relaxing...have a beer while you bathe...

PS - also recommend the Into the Volcano tour...pricey, but frankly worth it...has to be seen.
