Our experience with kimkim has once again been nothing but the best. The ability to customize an itinerary to my specific desires is the best part of this service. Once we told Fabio what our interests are and the type of vacation we wanted to experience, Fabio gave us excellent choices and suggestions.

Since we are very into experiencing culture through food, we set up a food tour in Sorrento. Now, this food tour was not like ones we have experience before- where you go to local restaurants and sample traditional foods. This food tour started on a cheese farm, traveled to a family owned pizza shop where we made our own pizzas, and ended on a lemon farm! It was one of my most memorable days. We learned so much, about the way of the people and how it shaped the food/culture. I highly recommend this tour for those who really want to explore an authentic side of Italy.

Another favorite day was the trip to Ischia to experience a day at the hot springs. We choose to go to the water park Negombo. This park was most breathtaking- the natural beauty of the island was kept intact, well manicured, and the pools were all full of different features. I would recommend a day here to anyone looking to unwind.

We really enjoyed our hiking guide from our Path of Gods hike. It really is a wonderful experience to get to know the history from a local. He was very informative and able to open our eyes to things we would have never known about along that hike.

We loved each hotel that Fabio picked for us. It was only until we stayed at each hotel and experienced the city highlights that we could fully appreciate the optimal locations picked out for us! Thank you for that. Our favorite hotel was Hotel Corallo- the costal views were unbeatable.

Every driver was very punctual, professional, and friendly. A very special thank you to the driver who picked us up on May 13 from the Naples train station to our hotel, (we apologize, we cannot remember their name), they were with Ms. Deborah and while we were reviewing our itinerary details for future drop off/pick ups and excursions, he was very attentative to details and helped point out small tips for us.

It was great having a personal concierge in Italy, having Mrs. Daniela help us through any details that we were unsure of was very reassuring. Her availability and ability to help us at any time was greatly appreciated.

We cannot wait to plan another trip with kimkim! We don’t know where and we don’t know when, but we do know that it will be amazing.

My husband and I had a wonderful 8 day tour of Italy. We had excellent communication with our local specialists Barbara during the entire length of the trip. Sonia was extremely helpful in providing various trip options and helping us customize the trip to our liking.

The Kimkim specialists Sonia and Barbara helped us through some last minute changes in our plans and quickly changed our train reservations, pick up options and guided us on obtaining a covid test prior to leaving.

Overall, we would highly recommend both Italy and the Kimkim team. We are definitely planning to come back!

Private guided hiking: the stunning Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop in the Dolomites

Planning a trip of a lifetime is never easy, expectations are high!   Deciding to partner with KimKim was a bit of a gamble, we hadn't worked with KimKim in the past...or even heard of them.  They delivered, specifically Alessandro delivered for us.   It all started in Rome and visiting the many sites.   Alessandro orchestrated drivers and guides that made the experience unforgettable.   Then onto one of the most picturesque locations in Italy...if not the world, the Amalfi coast, staying at the Hotel Le Agavi was perfect.   The guided tours, hiking the coast and dinners on the beach capped with a boat small group tour of Capri was just perfect.  Finally a small group cooking class overlooking the town of Sorrento was an excellent way to recover from all the hiking and tours.  Onto Umbria and Tuscany regions,  the magnificent views, wine tasting and visiting the areas of Citta della Pieve and Montepulciano were fascinating .   Our stay at Borgo Dei Conti Resort Relais Chateaux was incedible. Ending with a great stay in Firenze visiting San Gimignano capped off a trip of a lifetime!!   Thanks  Alessandro for pulling this all together and making this trip a perfect memory!!

We LOVED our trip to Italy planned by Andrea! Our travel was seamless and well thought out, and our activities were perfectly aligned with our requests. Andrea was so helpful and responsive to our endless questions, and we really appreciated how quickly he replied. Our favorite things had to be the wonderful Podere Brizio in Tuscany, or the wine tasting near San Gimignano. They were such peaceful and lovely places.

Allesia was basically in charge of us for the entire trip even when she would turn us over to local guides. She was beyond amazing, we were taken care of from arrival in Venice to departure in
Rome. She kept in touch with us every evening no matter where we were. The information she shared with us was very good, especially since we have been in Venice a few times before.
The hotel in Venice was superb, Al Reali, a charming and comfortable hotel, well located with an impressive breakfast. Staff very welcoming and friendly.
On to the Amalfi Coast. The hotel Corallo was okay, staff was very good, breakfast was very good ,views were stunning. It is a very attractive hotel, but lacking certain amenities, like a coffee maker, readily available ice, make-up mirror. led to believe that hourly transit to the town was provided, and it was not that often. We also had an issue with noise from the lobby and a bathroom door that was difficult to open.. All of these issues were somewhat handled by the manager, but the issue with the door handle was never really fixed.
However we were lucky enough to have a wonderful driver,
carmine. We kept him for 3 days.
It was a pleasant stay but I would not go back there.

On to Rome. Perfection. HotelMartis Palace location was ideal. Hotel completely charming and the staff most accommodating. We would definitely go back there and recommend it to everyone. Great breakfast also. Lovely rooftop lounge overlooking the entire skyline. Louisa was a lovely guide for Rome . completely knowledgeable and very flexible to our schedule.

Booking was effortless, Harris listened to what we wanted and delivered an amazing experience. Of course, there are always things to improve on. Loved the small group tours in Rome, more of an experience when you can interact with the tour guide. The Musto B&B in Naples was lovely however, no elevator access and 3 flights of stairs (although they claim it is the 1st floor???) A bit much when hauling heavy suitcases! The tour of Pompeii was fantastic as we had our own guide, very knowledgeable! We also enjoyed the Vesuvius wine tasting and lunch! Unfortunately our driver did not know he was also to take us to the crater and instead drive us straight to Sorrento. Loved Sorrento and the boat tours! Again the small boat tours were perfect and definitely the way to go! The location in Sorrento was perfect although we did not need an apartment. Fortunately we had a free day and were able to reschedule the trip to Mount Vesuvius. Thank you for that! We could have saved some travel time taking the train from Naples to Rome for departing rather than driving all the way to Solerno. Not sure why that was recommended? Just a suggestion for the future. It was a great trip with amazing experiences!! Thank you Harris!

The room and staff are lovely. The ground floor is rough and unfinished. There is an elevator, but it does not stop on the 1st floor which is where the B&B is. Three flights of stairs to the 1st floor! Not great with heavy suitcases and no one to assist. We did have help on the day we left though.

Our vacation in Italy was well beyond our expectations. All of our requests were met and the guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Everyone was on time and all drivers and vehicles were top notch. Guides were Suzanne in Rome, Sara in Venice, Cecelia in Cinque Terra, Barbara in Florence. We had private tours on land always in a Mercedes, private cabins on high speed trains, a small group boat trip to Capri, wine tasting, limoncello making, fabulous restaurants, beautiful 4 star hotels that supplied breakfasts, views of Mt Vesuvius and a 2 hr private tour of Pompeii, a private tour of the Amalfi coast and Tuscany in private cars and so much more. Our planner, Jessica, was constantly checking in with us to ensure everything was perfect. We wish we had experienced this memorable vacation in our youth rather than in or 60s. We gained so much knowledge about engineering, architecture, culture and ancient history that we will be sharing with our family and friends. We will certainly recommend Kimkim to everyone! We enjoyed every moment and will treasure all of our memories we made on this trip.

Okay, this was the most amazing trip I have had in my entire lifetime. From the transportations to and from the airports and train stations to the fantastic planned activities, everything was tailored to us in the most fantastic way. Tasos planned our honeymoon just perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the excursions. We would, without hesitation, recommend Kimkim to our friends and family, thanks.

My husband and I finally got to have our Italian honeymoon (2 years delayed thanks to Covid). Over 2 weeks we experienced Venice, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Naples. Tasos helped us put this unforgettable experience together and it was perfect! We did all private and small group tours which really helped us get the most out of our trip. Some of our biggest highlights included gelato making with Tulio in Florence, The Colosseum with Elisabetta in Rome, an evening golf cart tour of Rome with Gianluca, and our private tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius with Giuseppe. The entire trip was truly amazing. I wouldn't change a thing!
As for support during the trip, all questions / assistance were quickly answered / resolved with help from Tasos and the Travel 12 team. I had a special request for ice each night (recovering from ankle surgery) and Tasos worked with each hotel to make sure it was provided for me upon our return to our hotel each night. They even worked with our hotel in Naples to set up our Covid tests to return home. Everything was above and beyond all expectations!

We starting planning this trip in 2019, then Covid. It was a long wait but worth it, we had an amazing time. All of our guides and drivers were incredible. Our personal concierge, Alessia did a great job of answering all of our questions and giving us itinerary updates and reminders each evening. I can't think of a tour or activity that wasn't exceptional.

All of our transfers and meet up with drivers and guides went quite smoothly. Wine tour (Danny), walking tour(Joseph), and boat tour of Amalfi and Capri(Luigi?), All guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Each presented options to personalize our tours to our wants and needs and all were quite attentive. The seafood dinner after our tour of Naples was good, but could have been enhanced by better attention by wait staff and possibly a explanation of what we were going to experience that evening. Accommodations were not your typical lodging, but after recognizing the individual personality and unique location, we began to understand why they were chosen.
Overall, very pleased with the attention to detail by planning staff to accommodate our schedule and insure that all locations and providers were prepared for our out of the ordinary needs in advance.

We were extremely pleased with the overall experience we had with KimKim. Our local specialist, Monica took our ideas and provided us an itinerary that was specific to us. She offered excellent ideas and options and promptly answered any questions we had.
Alessia, our overall coordinator was excellent. From the first time we met her we felt a connection with her. She was warm, welcoming, so very knowledgeable and a joy to be with. Her command of the English language was comforting and just made everything easy. Alessia was precise in her coordination of our activities. She arranged every appointment with guides, drivers, etc. so that everything ran smoothly. She provided an updated itinerary every night for the next day.
In Venice, in addition to Alessia, Sylvia provided a guided tour to St Mark’s Cathedral and Doge’s Palace. She was knowledgeable, informative and cordial. We especially enjoyed the uniqueness of Venice. For the next several days, Simone was our driver. He was friendly, helpful and his good English was appreciated. Simona, our city guide in Florence did an excellent job of informing us of the depth of history, culture and arts in Florence. We were especially amazed that the church of Santa Croce was the burial place of so many famous Italians and there is a statute in there that may have inspired the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor. Our day in the Tuscan countryside was my favorite. The stop in Sienna was fun and the wine tasting and lunch at Casa Emma in San Donato was a fitting celebration for 50 years of marriage. Our guide in Pisa, Vincenzo, was also knowledgeable and friendly. We were surprised at actually how much the leaning tower is actually leaning and what has been done to stabilize it. Our last few days were spent in the amazing Cinque Terre. Chiara was our guide of the five lands. Again, she was pleasant, knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy the day with us. We were disappointed that because of the weather we couldn’t enjoy the lands from the boat, but Chiara adjusted the schedule so that we still had a fun day. Two other drivers took us to Milan and then to the airport. They were both prompt and did an excellent job of delivering us to our designated places. Of everything, the planning and attention to detail was evident to us and very much appreciated.

From the moment we filled out KimKim’s questionnaire to the moment we stepped off the plane to return home, every detail of our 14-day vacation to Italy was outstanding! Our local specialist, Jessica, did a fantastic job of organizing and selecting exactly what my husband and I needed to have an exceptional trip from start to finish. Our vacation included many of the more familiar "touristy" stops - Florence, Pisa, Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Palermo, Rome - as well as a singular off-the-beaten path excursion to my family's small ancestral village in the heart of Sicily!

We were a bit nervous about the fact that we didn’t speak Italian, but Jessica made everything so seamless and organized that it never posed a problem for us. She even gave us her contact number to be available to us 24/7 in case we had any questions or issues along the way. She always answered our questions immediately and was able to resolve any miscues on the spot!

Each of the guides Jessica selected for us was knowledgeable and personable, we especially enjoyed the walking tour of Palermo with Marilù, the tour of Pompeii with Ella, the boat trip to Capri with Francesca and Nello, and the wonderful tour of the Vatican (the day before Easter!) with Laura. Also, a special shoutout to ALL our drivers (too many to name) who were all so professional, always on time, and each one so willing to share their own expertise of the area and Italian culture.

We also thoroughly enjoyed the unique hotels and B&Bs that Jessica chose for us: the Hotel Conca Park in Sorrento with the breathtaking view of Vesuvius and Donna Camilla Savelli (a former 17-century monastery) in Rome were personal favorites with their local charm, fantastic locations and wonderful breakfasts!

On a side note, we travelled to Italy in April, which can normally be a rainy time of year, but we were fortunate that it only rained the first day and after that the weather was beautiful. Temps felt perfect in the 60-70s (Fahrenheit) most days, so we highly recommend this as a travel time over the summer months if possible. We hope to come back to Italy very soon to visit new places and return to some of our favorites, especially Sorrento (dinner at la Lanterna is a must!) and spend more time exploring the streets and museums of Florence and Rome.

Jessica definitely went above and beyond with her expert knowledge and detailed planning to make this a memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience. We sincerely appreciated how she was able to personalize the vacation to our specific needs every step of the way.

Loved the unique charm and luxury of this former monastery! Service was outstanding, and all the staff we encountered were very welcoming. The only drawback for us was the temperature of the room. We were there in April, which is a fairly cool time of year in Rome, but the room still felt a bit too warm for comfort. We're from Texas btw, so we're definitely accustomed to heat! We were told by the management that the hotel doesn't turn on the a/c until summer, so we slept with the window open to try to get it cooler. The staff graciously brought us an oscillating fan that helped tremendously! We enjoyed the hotel's beautiful garden courtyard for drinks, and the hotel is just steps away from a hotspot of streets in Rome with numerous places to eat!

Guided Tour of Palermo

My husband and I enjoyed a walking tour of Palermo with our guide, Marilù. Her knowledge of the city and history of Palermo and Sicily was extensive. We learned so much! She kept a perfect pace for us, keeping in mind my husband's mobility issues throughout. She even took us to visit one of the food markets in the city where were able to stop and sample some delicious local favorites for lunch!

Wow! Where to begin. I just got back from a 12-day trip to Italy with two other friends that was planned through kimkim. I discovered the site while looking at premade itineraries and decided to go ahead and plan a customized itinerary with a local specialist. I was then set up with Andrea, our local specialist through kimkim. He created the most perfect trip I could have ever asked for. Every request we had was answered, he went through extra effort to change things along the way so that we had the perfect itinerary ready to go. He was able to customize different types of tours (Small group vs private group), different classes of train travel, and various transportation options. Each thing he planned for us went so smoothly. Traveling internationally can be intimidating at times when trying to plan certain aspects; but with kimkim and Andrea, it was seamless. Not only was he incredibly responsive during the planning of the trip, but once we arrived, Andrea was always there to answer my questions and concerns through texting and calling. Anything that arose, such as wanting to book extra tours or booking covid tests to get back to America or confirming tour guides' names, Andrea was there to help in an incredibly timely manner. Some of our highlights were all of our guided tours of museums such as the Accademia Gallery, Uffizi Gallery, Vatican city, and our private wine tour through Tuscany. Each of our tour guides was incredibly kind and educated in their respective field of expertise. Our wine tour guide Fillipo was a Sommelier, our Rome city stroll guide Ferdinando was a Ph.D. in Archeology, and all of our art guides were masters or Ph.D.s in Art history. Each one was superb. I often saw many other tourists in large groups of 15+ with microphones and earpieces and they were booked at the same price as some of our tours. Without a doubt, our tours were more personal and better. I could go on for many more paragraphs about how great of a trip this was, how easy it was to book and create my perfect itinerary, and how helpful my local specialist Andrea was, but I will save your eyes! I was unfamiliar with kimkim before this trip, but because of their and Andreas' incredible work and help, I will be booking all my future trips with the company. What an amazing day we had in Tuscany. Our day began with meeting our guide Filippo. We booked it as a small group trip (up to 8 people) but lucked out by being just the three of us and Filippo. He took us first to San Gimignano to have a short time to explore this incredible piece of history. Next, we traveled to two vineyards and were given amazing tours at each. The tasting, the private four-course lunch, and the tours were incredible. Not only were the guides at each vineyard kind and informed, but Fillipo always had more to add to make our experience better. He is a sommelier, training for his level 3 exam, and it showed. He knew so much about tasting and making wine and was able to impart great knowledge to each of us. It was an incredible day and I would highly recommend it.

Jessica made our experience the most memorable one yet! We wanted to go to Italy for our Honeymoon and it was difficult finding a tour that suited our timing, until we found KimKim. Jessica helped customize our trip to our specific needs and she was always very easy to talk to. She made us feel reassured and was very solid with communication! We love the hotel for it's Boutique look and vintage vibes. The room was very nice, comfortable and does a great job transporting you into the setting. I will say some minor inconvenience will be the light switches which are very unconventional, the switch for the bathroom is outside of the room lol you can't control the AC either. The breakfast is amazing, buffet style, gym is cool and everyone is very nice. I would stay there again.

This was my first international trip and it couldn't have been more memorable! Our travel director, Andrea Gambino was wonderful! He was available for 3 zoom calls prior to departure. He was so easy to contact when we were in Sicily traveling from one city to the next. He chose delightful hotels and everything was paid up front and so there were no hidden fees upon check-out. The drivers, Marco and Antonio, were great. I felt like we got to know them and their families and asked them to join us for a meal if possible. They were dressed so professionally and even had bottled water, umbrellas, and sweets for us in the car. They were very knowledgeable and conversed freely with us about the places we were visiting. The hotels Andrea picked were perfect. I especially liked the hotel in Taormina - Hotel Casa Adele; and the Baglio San Nicola farm hotel near Agrigento. Both were family owned and were so unique and friendly. We got to know the families that owned these hotels and therefore got to know more about the Sicilian people. the tour guides were Alessandro Rustico, Lilly Galetta and Maria. Alessandro and Maria had doctorates in Archeology. All three were wonderful tour guides - I feel like I could stay for several hours more with them to learn many interesting facts about Sicily. They were so friendly and passionate about what they were teaching us. Andrea gave us restaurant suggestions and the ones we chose on his list were close to our hotels and had delicious, authentic Sicilian dishes that were not "tourist traps". I could go on and on about how "perfect" this trip was as arranged by Andrea and kimkim. I would choose this travel agency and Andrea for every trip I take in the future if possible.

When we decided to visit Italy we knew we would need help and guidance. We have never traveled to Europe and we were visiting our daughter studying abroad in Rome. We really just stumbled upon KimKim. However Andrea, who runs KimKim for Italy, was excellent. He was responsive, experienced, and helped us plan everything. We relied heavily on his experience and expertise. By doing this, we were rewarded immensely.
Andrea got to know us and once he knew we were “clueless”, he put together the most detailed trip and took care of everything!
Everyday was planned out from hotels, to drivers, to guides, restaurants, plus travel tips basically everything we never thought of. Andrea took care of everything.
Each day besides arrival day had basically a half day plan or guide. We went from Rome to Naples to Florence and back to Rome. All within 8 days. Everything was planned out - hotels, drivers, trains, taxis etc. The transfer between cities was flawless. Andrea’s drivers were always on time and provided first class service! They were extraordinary. The hotels were each one - everything we wanted. All different and memorable. The staff at each hotel was very attentive and the breakfast at each was excellent.

However for us the best experience we had was with the guides! We really didn’t understand what that experience would be like. My wife and I always like the educational aspect and these guides were fantastic. We had the same guide in Rome for two tours - she was so sweet and knowledgeable. We liked her very much. Our guide in Naples was just as charming and knowledgeable. She really made a difference in us getting to know Naples and the people of that city. Again she was excellent. Then we went to Pompeii and that was a highlight of our trip - we were transported into a Roman village. We did not expect Pompeii to have the effect it did on us. Our tour guide brought that Roman village alive. She was amazing. In Florence it was the same experience. Our guide showed up early and she gave us a wonderful tour of Florence and the David statue. She was special in that she gave us so much history around the city Florence. We really didn’t know that much about Florence so it was very memorable.

So what more can I say. The execution of Andrea’s plan was flawless. The people were extraordinary. The trip was amazing and it’s something we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Our guides in Matera, Alberobello and Lecce were excellent. Enthusiastic and well informed about the history and other more mundane things we showed interest in.
We loved Matera, Bari, Alberobello and Lecce and we were very happy with our hotels. The stay at the masseria was particularly notable for the wonderful food.

Andrea did a great job helping us plan this trip. He had to endure our frequent changes and our last minute decision to take the tour despite Covid warnings. We managed to get through from Sicily and Puglia without getting sick. It was a most memorable experience.
