Gran Hotel Reymar, Costa Brava
Relaxed beachfront hotel with sea and castle views, plus an outdoor pool, al fresco dining, and sports facilities
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- It's hard to beat a beachfront location like this, especially in the medieval town of Tossa de Mar with its Old Town and castle just a 10-minute walk down the shore.
- All rooms have sea views, balconies or terraces, and modern, stylish furnishings and decor.
- You can enjoy the many amenities at the hotel, including a spa, fitness center, and an outdoor pool with sun loungers and umbrellas.
- The on-site restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and uses as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.
- You can dine outside on the terrace overlooking the beach and sea.
- Families will appreciate the family rooms and large villas, plus a kids' playground, a basketball court, and a paddle court.
- The rooms are clean, updated, and comfy, but generally, they don't live up to the hotel's luxury rating.
- With over 150 rooms, it can get a little busy during the peak summer season.
Authenticity
Gran Hotel Reymar combines modern amenities with authentic Mediterranean charm. The hotel features tasteful decor inspired by the sea and local surroundings, including artworks and photographs by local artists, colorful tiles, and natural materials like wood and stone. Though most of the hotel feels contemporary, the exterior still offers that vintage Spanish-golden-age-of-tourism vibe with its white-washed facade and balconies.Location
Gran Hotel Reymar is on one of the most famous and sandiest beaches in the charming coastal town of Tossa de Mar. The hotel is just a few steps from the beautiful Platja Gran beach and within walking distance of the historic town center and its medieval castle. If you have a car or hire a private transfer and want to explore the area, a 50-minute drive up the coast takes you to Begur (extend the drive to an hour for one of the prettiest coastal stretches and consider a stop in Canyet de Mar).Rooms & Bathrooms
Economic rooms are the only ones without a balcony or terrace, though still offer a bright and airy space with modern furnishings. Otherwise, all other units are quite spacious with outdoor spaces with sea views and large windows for plenty of natural light. Families can spread out in triple rooms, family units with two double beds, or villas that sleep up to six and provide dining rooms, living areas, and kitchens. In general, the rooms don't quite feel like a luxury hotel, and many balconies pair their sea views with parts of the hotel that aren't so appealing, like the roof, fire escape, and vents.Other Highlights
A big highlight of the hotel is its direct access to the beach. You're basically staying on the sand, as just a couple of steps out of the hotel puts you right on the coast. When you need a break from the waves, you can swim in the outdoor pool with its terrace of sun loungers and umbrellas or relax in the spa with a sauna, a steam room, and a range of treatments and massages. Other amenities include a fitness center, sports courts, yoga classes, and a kids' playground. For meals, you can enjoy the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant serving local cuisine with the option of outdoor dining.Like what you see?

Our family had rooms with sea views. The rooms were modern. There is
no ability to adjust the air conditioning which was not ideal but thankfully it was not too hot outside when we were there so keeping the blinds closed while we were out helped. Check in was super easy and the staff were terrific! We har a car and parking is a bit steep at 20 euros per day though it... Read more
