Overview
Kimkim's Take

- The hotel's location is perfect, just steps from the beach and a 5-minute stroll from Tossa de Mar's medieval walls and castle.
- You'll find lots of beautifully decorated common spaces, including an inner courtyard garden, a stylish "chill out" terrace, and an outdoor patio with Art Nouveau touches.
- Many of the rooms have private balconies overlooking the sea, and suites include architectural features like arched doors and stained glass.
- The on-site restaurant offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a grand original dining room or on the seafront terrace.
- The building is an architectural treasure, but some of the rooms feel a little plain compared to the common spaces.
- The central location means you may hear the noise from nearby cafés during busy times.
- The hotel closes seasonally from October through April.
Authenticity
Hotel Diana's distinctive white facade dates to 1906, when a local businessman commissioned architect Antoni de Falguera i Sivilla to build him a grand home along the Tossa de Mar seafront. Today, the former"Casa Sans" preserves many classic hallmarks of the Catalan Modernism school, including a whimsical stucco exterior, nature-inspired stained glass, and intricate mosaics. The downstairs lounges, dining rooms, and terraces feel like stepping into the past, while the upstairs rooms are more contemporary but still retain period touches like iron balconies and arched doorways.Location
The hotel is nestled between Tossa de Mar's central Plaça d'Espanya and the main beach, Platja Gran. At the beach's southern end sits the town's 12th-century castle, and a 5-minute walk takes you into the Vila Vella (the Costa Brava's only surviving fortified medieval town), filled with restaurants, bars, and shops. In 10 minutes, you can reach the Cap de Tossa lighthouse for far-reaching views over the coast, or connect with the famous Camí de Ronda walking route. The Girona-Costa Brava airport is a 35-minute drive north, and though there's no on-site parking at the hotel, covered paid parking is available nearby.Rooms & Bathrooms
The 21 air-conditioned rooms at Hotel Diana are simple and comfortable, though most lack the period details of the common areas. All have either Juliet balconies or private terraces and overlook the beach or the town square. Triple rooms add a sofa bed, and Family units sleep up to four. Grab one of the suites if you'd like some original architectural features (like arched windows or stained glass) and your own private terrace with incredible views of the sea and the castle. Bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, with rain-style showers.Amenities
Hotel Diana's common areas are a standout feature, offering the chance to relax amid classic Catalan Modernism design features like ornate tiling and arched windows. Pull up a chair in the inner courtyard garden or one of the outdoor lounges the hotel calls "chill-out spaces." The on-site restaurant is also a perk, serving Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a beautiful Art Nouveau-style dining room, the inner courtyard, or the terrace lining the beachfront promenade. A buffet breakfast is included in the room rate, and a la carte dishes are available at an additional cost. Guests also have access to the pool and scenic rooftop at the sister property, Hotel Delfín, just a 4-minute walk away.
Family-Friendliness
The hotel welcomes children, and room options include Triples with an extra sofa bed or Family units with separated living areas for more privacy. There are no specific kid-focused amenities here, but the proximity to the beach and the central location within easy walking distance of the Old Town and castle make this a great choice for families.
