Hôtel Les Sources de Caudalie, Bordeaux
Luxurious vineyard retreat offering gourmet dining, a spa, and an outdoor heated pool
Overview
Les Sources de Caudalie is a luxury property offering an indulgent city escape on the outskirts of Bordeaux. The hotel is immersed in nature and sits across the vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a premier wine-growing estate in the Graves region. The property connects with its surroundings, showcasing a contemporary design infused with recycled materials and structures from the local area. Located in the provincial park of Martillac, you can easily access the surrounding vineyards, while Bordeaux is a little over a 30-minute drive away.
The rooms at Les Sources de Caudalie each exude comfort and elegance with contemporary decor, each adorned with antique furniture, seashell-shaped lighting fixtures, and muted colors. The rooms' wooden elements, such as the wainscotting, make them warm and inviting, whereas suites are more spacious and feature deep, rich colors contrasting a white palette. They offer separate sleeping and living areas, exposed beams, and vineyard or garden views. For a fun upgrade, consider booking the La Chartreuse du Château Le Thil, located a 4-minute drive from the main property. This is a private 18th-century guest house with nine rooms and two suites.
Dining at the hotel is a culinary adventure with several on-site options. La Grand'Vigne, the hotel's two-star Michelin restaurant, offers a gastronomic journey into the Graves vineyard under the guidance of chef Nicolas Masse. The La Table du Lavoir serves a generous and high-level bistro while Rouge, the hotel's gourmet grocery and wine bar, is a place to savor local products and Bordeaux wine. The French Paradox bar offers an intimate and peaceful atmosphere for a relaxing end to the day. You can also unwind at the hotel's spa, Caudalie, or dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool and whirlpool.
