Hotel Palacio Vallier, Valencia
Historic palace turned luxury boutique hotel offering stylish rooms, a rooftop terrace, and a restaurant/bar
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- You'll stay right in the center of Valencia, close to many restaurants, cafés, and shops, and within walking distance from many major sites.
- Relax on the incredible rooftop terrace with its panoramic views, cushy lounge furniture, and historical elements like bell towers.
- As with nearly all MYR hotels, the daily breakfast is a treat.
- You can also enjoy other meals at the hotel's restaurant, which honors the building's ancient past as a Roman perfumery.
- The rooms are stylishly decorated and equipped with modern amenities—and suites add perks like in-room soaking tubs and balconies with views.
- Some standard rooms on the top floor with slanted ceilings feel a little cramped, so you might need to upgrade for enough space (especially if you're tall!).
Authenticity
Hotel Palacio Vallier has a rich history as a palace built in the 19th century. The hotel preserved many original features, including its elegant facade, grand entrance, and ornate ceilings. The interior beautifully blends classic and modern styles, juxtaposing contemporary decor and artwork with the building's original architectural elements. And during renovation, the hotel's owners discovered that it was built atop an ancient Roman site from the 3rd century, a historic perfumery.Location
The building's historical past means you'll be right in the center of Valencia, a perfect base for exploring the city on foot. The hotel is directly on the Plaça de Manises, just around the corner from the Valencia Cathedral. The Central Market and Lonja de la Seda are a six-minute walk, and Plaça de la Reina is only four minutes away. Turia Gardens is also a six-minute walk, and you could rent a bike and pedal through the park to the City of Arts and Sciences in 15 minutes.Rooms & Bathrooms
The rooms at Hotel Palacio Vallier are all bright and beautifully designed, featuring wooden flooring, balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble bathrooms with rainfall showers. Some include unique historical elements, like beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. The rooms have a mix of contemporary and classic decor, with stylish furnishings, colorful tiles, and intricate moldings. Upgrade to a suite for perks like double balconies, seating areas, enormous showers, and/or in-room soaking tubs.Other Highlights
The rooftop terrace is a standout feature, offering comfy seating surrounded by a mix of plants, city views, bell towers, and historic domes. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, The La Perfumería, which also serves various local and international dishes using raw materials and unique flavor combinations. Sip drinks and enjoy snacks on the rooftop or at the lounge bar, Lladró.Like what you see?
