Hotel Riomar—Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ibiza

Pros

• As a Tribute hotel, the overall design is very trendy and stylish, giving guests an authentic bohemian feel. 
• This is a beachfront hotel, so you'll be right on the coast and near the mouth of the Río de Santa Eulalia. 
• Rooms feel very inviting and comfortable with relaxed colors, plus all have private terraces, and most feature sea views.
• The outdoor pool has a sundeck and bar, plus the seaside restaurant serves meals in an outdoor dining space. 
• You can relax in the "Tribe" area, which has colorful bohemian seating, sunbeds, and music at sunset.
• The hotel focuses on sustainability and has numerous collaborations and initiatives, such as working with KMZero (kilometer zero) to promote local food sources.

Cons

• The exterior feels big and generic, not really matching the stylish island theme you'll find inside. 
• Though it has beautiful decor and a bohemian vibe, it's still a large chain hotel, so you don't quite get that quaint boutique feel. 

Additional Notes From Ash 

Recommending a chain hotel isn't the norm for kimkim, but this Marriott property is a Tribute Hotel with so many unique perks that it's at the top of the list. The location is prime, out of the busy cities and on the beach in a community beloved by locals. And then there's the aesthetics, island vibes, food, and overall charm. I was only there to visit, but I ended up staying for a meal, as I couldn't resist the ambiance! I'm glad I did because I watched the sunset ritual as I lounged on a sunbed and felt like I was in authentic bohemian Ibiza. 

Authenticity

One step into the hotel, and you feel completely enveloped in Ibiza's mid-century vibe with a color palette that complements the natural scenery. The hotel aims to provide a complete experience while embracing slow living. But to really channel the island's hippie past, head to the Tribe terrace for sunset sessions with low beats and acoustic music. 

Location

With its location at the southern end of Santa Eulalia, the hotel is directly on the beach and just two minutes by foot from the bridge crossing over the Río de Santa Eulalia. Just one step off the hotel's property puts you on the beach, though you can enjoy other sandy spots, such as Babylon Beach (a 30-minute walk or 10-minute drive). If you'd like to drive farther, 20 minutes takes you to the beautiful Aigües Blanques beaches, and the hiking area at Cala Blanca is just about 12 minutes away. 

Rooms & Bathrooms

Rooms and suites are stylish, with contemporary decor and furnishings that create a colorful yet relaxing atmosphere. Everything feels fresh, bright, clean, warm, and inviting. All have private terraces, minifridges, pillow menus, and coffee makers, and most offer sea views. Suites add another balcony and living rooms with sofas, and bathrooms are about the same across all tiers, following the contemporary and fresh aesthetic. 

Other Highlights

Enjoy meals at the Ocean Brasserie Lounge, which serves food all day in the summer and offers al fresco dining. You can also eat lighter fare and sip drinks at the pool deck or the indoor cocktail bar. Other amenities include a garden space, fitness room, private beach area, and the terrace known as "Tribe," which hosts music at sunset, colorful carpets, sunbeds, pillows, and string lights. 

Sustainability

Hotel Riomar partners with KMZero, meaning "kilometer zero," which promotes local food production and sustainability. This collaboration provides guests with locally sourced food and high-quality water without waste. In cooperation with IbizaPreservation, the hotel participates in the fundraising initiative "1 Euro to the Bill," which donates to conserving natural resources and ecosystems.
