Authenticity

The hotel's name translates to "The Garden of Eden," which is appropriate considering the property features a quiet garden reprieve just up the hill from the center of Tamarindo. You don't even need to walk on the road to get to the downtown area, as a private pathway leads to the main street. So you get the best of both, a central spot and a quiet oasis.

Location

Jardin del Eden is in downtown Tamarindo with a short walking path leading to the main road along the beach. You can reach everything (the beach, restaurants, shops, and cafés) in just a few minutes, though the return trek requires a bit of uphill walking. If you'd like to explore the area, rent a car or hire a transfer, as sites like Playa Grande and Playa Ventanas are about 40 minutes away.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Enjoy warm, bright, and airy rooms, all with king beds, minifridges, and air-conditioning. Nearly all units have a balcony or terrace, with some adding Jacuzzi tubs and daybeds. There are numerous room options, so we recommend upgrading for more space and views, as the standard units feel a little left behind. The bathrooms are modern and clean. 

Wildlife

Tamarindo is a well-developed beachside town, and the urban setting of the hotel limits wildlife viewing opportunities compared to other areas in Costa Rica. Still, you'll occasionally spot some of the more common animals passing through the property, such as howler monkeys, iguanas, and several native bird species. 

Amenities

There are two pools available, with each having a distinct vibe. The primary pool is quite spacious, with both swimming and wading areas, and is adjacent to the hotel's outdoor spa, which offers massages and beauty treatments with an outdoor ambience. A secondary plunge pool is in the private beach club, perfect for a refreshing dip or for grabbing a drink from the adjacent pool bar. Most rooms are accessible for travelers with limited mobility. 

Family-Friendliness

Jardin del Eden Boutique Hotel is an adult-only property and isn't suitable for families, as guests must be at least 18 years old. 

Other Highlights

The room rate includes the breakfast buffet and dinner; if you stay more than four nights, you'll receive a dining pass to another restaurant under the same hotel group. As a nice bonus, the dinner menu changes daily, so you won't get bored with your meals. 

Sustainability

Jardin del Eden promotes several sustainability initiatives, including using solar panels for energy, controlled water wells, and a wastewater treatment plant. You'll also find only organic eggs served at breakfast, an on-site recycling program, a vegetable garden supplying the restaurant, and other goods provided by local artisans and businesses.
