This was my first time using Kimkim and I can’t wait to use them again! Having a travel specialist - Irene - with first hand knowledge of the cities I would be seeing made this trip an absolute dream. I appreciated being able to discuss and refine the itinerary so it fit my timeline, my goals and my budget.
All of the big details were well thought out and top notch .. our accommodations were charming; transportation was planned, ticketed and on time and the guides we worked with took a lot of pride in sharing their cities and country with us. This left my partner and me free to enjoy the views and soak up the experience.

Excellent tours and activities. The guide for our Bacari in Venice was so nice and fun. It was a lovely way to try different foods and drinks and learn about the city of Venice.

I loved our Hotel Berchielli in Florence. The location was excellent. The cooking class was a great experience and the walking tour was very informative.

Matteo was our guide/driver for the golf cart tour in Rome and shared many hidden gems of panoramic views and historic information.

Very fun experience! Only issue is we didn’t get the email of recipes for the pizza dough and gelato.

Martina was amazing to work with. From the start, we were sure of our plans and vision for our trip, and she helped roll with all the changes and enthusiastically brought us new ideas. We truly felt taken care of and we could relax on our trip while. Rome was amazing, and every single driver that we had went above and beyond. It was very hot, and lots of things were closed or had weird hours due to the summer holiday, but we knew that all our things were pretty well taken care of because of Martina. The Colosseum especially, our guide was able to navigate all the crowds and knew all the secrets to skipping the lines and managing the heat. My family particularly loved the Gladiator experience; it was a huge hit with my son, and even my husband got involved. The golf cart tour on our first night was a great way to get acclimated to the city, hit all the major stops, and also some hidden gems, and our guide gave us so many great tips of how to spend the rest of the time in Rome (best restaurants, parks, places to hide from the crowds and heat). He even called and made us a reservation for dinner that night! We did do a food tour one night, which I think suffered a bit from some of the restaurants being closed for the holiday. But overall what an amazing experience and a great trip.

LOVED The driver. He was so personable and friendly. I felt like he did a nice job balancing out some touristy spots with also some hidden gems. It really felt customary to our interests. This day was really, really hot... so I think it impacted the experience a bit. Our guide was phenomenal at skirting the lines and knew all the employees at the Colosseum, so she could get us in and around the crowd which was great and a game changer for the day. She also knew more about the Colosseum and Roman history than I think anyone in the entire world, so impressive. Our 7-year-old had a hard time paying attention; it was a ton of information, and we could have used some moments to stop and breathe a bit. It felt a bit more like a lecture than a tour, and both my husband and I found ourselves forgetting to stop and look at things to just soak it in, because we felt we needed to pay attention to the lesson. She was very, very, very nice and I think would have been a great guide for an older group of people who had unlimited patience and had perhaps been there before and wanted a level 300 course.

This was a perfect addition to our trip, it helped have something that felt special to our kiddo and really kept him engaged. It was very warm, and there were lots of mosquitos, so bring bug spray! But what a fun time! The staff was great, and the entire experience was well-paced and fun, even for us watching. Super memorable and overall just a silly fun time, but also felt authentic.

Our driver was so kind, but didnt know where we were going, so we had to circle around a bit. Then we got there over 45 minutes early before they were open, so we just sort of sat around and waited because we werent sure if there was anything close enough to leave and come back .

Fabio was an absolute pleasure to work with and booked the most incredible 2-week trip to Italy for us. We reached out with a vague itinerary and needed some guidance in terms of places to visit. Fabio was very helpful in terms of helping us narrow our focus and providing his honest assessment of what he thought we would like based on getting to know our preferences and desires for the trip. Fabio even suggested one town that we had not previously considered, which ended up being our favorite destination! He was very responsive, and overall a pleasure to work with. We had a number of calls to refine the itinerary, and each time Fabio was extremely patient and thorough. It is clear that Fabio cares about his clients and takes pride in his work. Fabio was also very accessible while we were on the trip in terms of helping to adjust dinner reservations, and even helping us to change our train tickets an hour before the departure time when we were running late. Overall, the destinations and activities that Fabio recommended were fantastic, and we loved the hotels too. We would gladly work with Fabio again, and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to plan a trip to Italy. Thank you for everything Fabio, we had such an amazing time and will be back soon!

Franscesca - Vatican and St Peter's Basilica: VERY enjoyable, and our guide was super knowledgable and passionate about her job. This made it a super fun experience. It was unfortunate that many of the areas in the Basilica were under reconstruction so we couldn't see them.

Sarah - Pompeii: One of my favorite parts of the trip. Sarah was funny, informative and extremely knowledgeable/passionate. Glad we added this at the last minute. Having a really small tour group, with just the 4 of us, made the experience extra special.

Rosanna - Naples Underground - She went way above and beyond, going to the hospital with 2 of our group, way past the time we were allotted to have her. Was so highly impressed at her professionalism, knowledge, and overall kindness.

Storywalking Team: I cannot say enough about how organized the team was, and proactive/timely in their communication. We all felt safe and in good hands the entire time!

Our coordinator, Andrea, was immediately and consistently available both before and during our visit (including the weekends!) and quickly helped to make last-minute adjustments as competing priorities dictated. Every service, including four expert tour guides (for museums, the Duomo, the Uffizi and Lake Como) were expert, polite, engaging and prompt. Every arranged driver for transitions and trips were punctual, polite and professional. And, the surprise highlight was the great "off the beaten path" experience of truffle hunting in the Tuscan countryside, and then transforming those truffles ourselves into homemade tagliatelle and ravioli pasta with locals hosts, who then served us in an outdoor balcony with a view of vineyards, farms and forests! Overall, Andrea, very well done and we were able to go at our own pace and still experience more than just the highlights, but also expert insights into our Florence, Lugano and Lake Como adventure.

Truffle Hunt and Cooking Class in Tuscany Countryside

The family and team here (3 generations!) are expert in the truffle trade, with a local farmstead with an excellent view of vineyards, farms and forests. Their well-trained and engaging truffle-hunting dogs were a hit and, within only a short walking distance, we were able to see multiple examples of the soils and trees that are best for production of truffles. We then transitioned with our guides into the "house" for our hands-on pasta making experience, including tagliatelle and ravioli including those same black truffles the dogs just found along our walk. The whole team is quite engaging and we even enjoyed getting to meet other fellow travelers experiencing the same while on their vacations. Highly recommend.

Incredible trip to Italy!! Valeria helped me plan the perfect vacation for six people. She thought of every detail and her team was outstanding! Beatrice was our faithful and delightful guide throughout the entire 10 day trip. Our drivers were prompt, professional and lovely. The tour guides we had for the historical sites were PHD level and so interesting and informative. Francesco’s tour of the Vatican even produced the Pope on our visit. Just a magical trip where I didn’t have to be the expert and waste my time figuring out the logistics. It was all done for me and as a result I really was able to enjoy. Our 10-day trip to Italy was a breeze to plan and book. We worked with Maria who was extremely helpful and was able to give us everything we wanted with constant changes being made; she was on top of things the entire time. All the tours and accommodations were top notch and just what we requested. Each adventure was better than the next. The tour guides were very enjoyable and knowledgeable and Rosanna, our tour guide in Naples went above and beyond walking us to a nearby hospital to check an infected bite. Without her there to help, I don't know what we would have done. The storywalking team was there at any given moment updating us and helping us along the way! Bravo!

Amalfi coast boat tour from Sorrento (Amalfi & Positano)

We saved our best excursion for last. This all day boat tour was absolutely incredible and our boat captain, The "Fonz" was super fun and made the trip memorable. Hand made sandwiches and snacks on the way around the coast to a stop at Amalfi where we had an hour to shop and experience the area. Then, on to Positano for an hour for more exploring. After that we anchored and had a leisurely 45 minutes swimming and relaxing in the Sea off the coast of Positano. Continuing back we stopped at blue grotto where we fed the fish. The very best part of our trip!

After Closure Tour of the Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel

Enjoyable evening spent in the Museum. Our guide was very knowledgeable but sometimes hard to hear as there are lots of twists and turns during the tour and the earpiece couldn't pick up his microphone. The entire grounds were much larger than we expected. More of a history of the paintings and sculpture than talk about religion.

Great views from the water and a great place to jump off and swim or snorkle! Water was warm and easy to spend time in. Not a large boat so the water was a little choppy to navigate through.

The trip was amazing! We had a great time visiting Firenze, Chianti, Siena, and Roma. Pick-ups and drop-offs were all on time and went smoothly, the guides and drivers were all outstanding, and the places that we stayed were beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food superb! We had no problems at all. In fact, we were able to see and do more than planned because the guides were so helpful with suggestions to make the trip even better!

Hotel L'Orologio

We had stayed at this boutique hotel before (14 years ago) and liked it so much much that we requested to stay there on this trip. While the hotel was still visually interesting (the interior decor), the hotel had undergone renovations and our hotel room (the same room as 14 years ago) looked very different. It was no longer split-level and had a lot less space. Otherwise, the stay was okay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

It was great, but too much was packed into the time allotted. We visited 5 places in all (we were told that it would be 3), and we drank a LOT of wine! It was fun, but we were tired toward the end of it.

Tuscany: San Gimignano & Siena Day Trip

Absolutely amazing! We fell in love with Siena! The driver and guide were excellent, the place gorgeous, it was the day before Palio, an important cultural event held twice a year in the city, so there was an excited atmosphere everywhere as people prepared for the next day!

Foodie Walking Tour of Roman Neighborhoods

We had a great time on this small group walking food tour of Rome! We especially loved visiting the Jewish Ghetto quarter of Rome and experiencing the food there! The Gelato we had at the end of the tour was also amazing!

Bye Bye, Italy!

This was the last day, we had breakfast, checked out, were driven to the airport for our flight home. Everything went smoothly! Great trip, but just very hot and humid in Italy in August!

My trip to Italy was my first experience abroad, and I had a great time! Elisa at KimKim was exceptional in her organization and exhibited high service excellence. A couple of minor issues were quickly and uneventfully resolved, and Elisa showed empathy and interest in our experience. The itineraries were terrific, and I learned a lot each day. Elisa responded to questions in a timely manner and I felt well cared-for from her end.

I have never used a travel agent before, and this was a wonderful experience. I am already thinking about a return trip to Italy, and I will consult with Elisa again!

We had such an incredible time. It was such a relief to know KimKim had coordinated the logistics perfectly - we really didn't have to worry about a single thing. We absolutely loved spending time with Beatrice in Venice. She made our trip really special. Thanks for everything.

Andrea provided exceptional support in preparation as well as immediate assistance during our travels. His efforts made our trip much smoother and more comfortable. We are truly grateful for having him as our agent thus created wonderful memories in this beautiful country 💚🤍❤️

Our trip took us from Bologna, to Florence, to Rome over 10 days. The itinerary and accommodations provided by Lorenza went off with nothing more than two minor issues noted below, which I offer only as constructive advice. And "Thank You" to Andrea for his real-time support in Rome.
In Bologna, accommodations at Hotel Aemilia were excellent--our favorite place on the trip. The only minor issue in this leg of the trip -- not enough time to enjoy Museo Enzo between arriving by train at Modena Centrale, and catching the shuttle bus to Museo Ferrari (40 minutes total were allowed, including time to walk to/from the Museo and train station. Too short. I missed the shuttle bus and took a taxi from Modena to Maranello so I could enjoy the Enzo museum). We also had a day trip to tour and sample parmigiano/reggiano, prosciutto, and balsamic vinegar in Emilia-Romagna. A real treat to have a private tour guide (there, and in every city we visited)-- we HIGHLY recommend this format. All of our tour guides were super-knowledgeable, fun, patient, etc.
Florence was our favorite place--SO much history. One highlight was our tour of the Chianti region (the only group tour we had, and there were only 11 of us in total, so no issue). Drinking wine and eating great food makes for quick fun together! Would go back to Florence and the Tuscany region without any hesitation. Accommodations there were excellent at Hotel Garibaldi Blu--very quaint, right near the train station but very quiet inside.
Rome was a whirlwind. Accommodations at Hotel Navona Colors were comfortable but a notch down from the other places we stayed. Private tour guide was absolutely, positively worth it! The only concern on this leg was actually in Frankfurt, our one stop on the trip home. We had 1 hr 20 min between our scheduled arrival in Frankfurt, and departure from there to Raleigh/Durham. Rome flight was 20 min late arriving, and then the German border/passport control process was SLOW and CROWDED. We narrowly escaped missing our flight from Frankfurt to Raleigh/Durham, being the last two persons on board. For a transatlantic trip, we like to avoid cutting this so close!

I would recommend KimKim, and Lorenza, without hesitation. THANK YOU for making our first trip to Italy memorable, and we are certain to return there soon. Ciao!

We stayed here due to business at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, which is within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent! The two are located in Ozzano, just East of Bologna, which is a small town. When put into this context, Phi Hotel was fine. Ratings below reflect the context.

Wow.. what an amazing trip to Italy all thanks to Luca!! He helped plan an action-packed trip with just the right amount of relaxation. From Florence to Sorrento to Rome, Luca helped curate the perfect itinerary that included tours, a cooking class, and a boat ride to Capri. The private transfers to and from the airports/ train stations eased our minds so much in knowing there was a ride waiting for us. Luca was a DREAM to work with and answered all our silly questions, helped when we were in a bind, and gave some amazing recommendations. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but can honestly say it exceeded my expectations and I will 100% use kimkim again.
