Overall, I would recommend trip planning through Kimkim and if that travel involves Spain, Marina is definitely a top notch choice. The hotels and experiences were first rate. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. My only issue and that's why the rating isn't a 5 is the inability to make changes once the trip started. I was told that we could have some flexibility but unfortunately, any change always involved a fee. I feel there should have been better communication about which hotels and airfares were locked in.

The overall experience was 5 stars. Karin’s direct experience and knowledge of Spain provided invaluable information in making decisions about the itinerary of the trip. The interactive application provided by Kimkim during the trip was extremely useful to review daily plans and verify trip details.

From the moment we started planning our trip James was an amazing resource and guide. He set up a fantastic itinerary that included Barcelona, San Sebastian, Costa Brava and Bilbao. We had amazing guided private tours in each city. Some of the highlights was the Pinchos tour in San Sebastian as well as our Picasso museum tour. The cooking class in Barcelona was very memorable. This was with cook taste Barcelona cooking class and our chef with Rosa. Our Picasso museum tour guide was unbelievably fantastic her name was Gilda

Rocio was our in country guide who was always available and made changes as necessary. We ate at some great restaurants hiked kayaked and spent amazing times with the Spanish people.

Barcelona- our stay at Be Mate Gracia was incredible- great location (thank you Bea!), and great space for families. The reception and all staff there was so helpful and kind and attentive throughout. I would highly recommend them.

Our bike tour was great, great guide!

Unfortunately our tour guide for our day trip to Girona-Costa Brava- Pals was so nice, but way too chatty and the tour was not geared towards children at all. My kids were SUPER bored. Pals was an amazing last stop though.

We did Montjuic on our own which was nice but I would not recommend Poble Espanol- pointless.
Casa Battlo was one of our favorite places in Barcelona, along with Oassis restaurant for delicious salads across from our hotel.

Valencia was magical- we loved the city and did a bike ride on our own which I recommend. Although Mon Suites Catedral was clean and in a fabulous centrally located area (the Old town), it was very loud, and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. As a result, I would NOT recommend that place to anyone.

Our favorite guide was Jordi in Barcelona. He was the perfect guide and extremely knowledgeable; providing us history , taking us to a fabulous restaurant for lunch, visiting incredible sites (Prak guell, sagrada familia). We also loved Mercedes. She was extremely knowledgeable about Seville and we loved visiting the alcazar and the Roman Catholic cathedral. And Elena was also one of our favorite guides. She was so knowledgeable about Spain and Frigiliana (which we loved so much!). One of our favorite sites/tours was trekking the Caminito del Rey!!! Loved it!!!

Sam and his team were second to none. This trip was literally the trip of a lifetime!! From urban, to rural and private tours this trip had it all. It was well crafted to our personal wants and needs. There were several times we had a couple hiccups in plans and his team came through for us with flying colors!! We did hiking, village visits, wineries- you name it. Everything was organized, punctual, and perfect. I can’t recommend Sam enough. Just a wonderful host who knows the best of the best in Spain. Hotel arrangements and hotel staff were great. Most tour drivers and vehicles were great. Original vehicle in costa brava was sub par. Vehicle for diner in El Far broke down. Arrangement of Taxi substitute was great. Their taxis and drivers were great. Tour guides were great and very informative. We enjoyed the Prado museum and the archeological museum in Madrid. A tour of Toledo was a highlight of our tour. We enjoyed the beaches of Sanander, San Sabastain, and Costa Brava. We wish you would have provided more information about how train service to Sanander works. We did not know that there would be a rush to check luggage after platform was announced. We did not know luggage would be checked.

All our local tour guides have made our trip so interesting and unforgettable. Their knowledge and speaking skills have given us a profound memory of Span’s history, culture, and arts! They are excellent tour guides! We really appreciate your arrangements and hotel staff.

We had so much fun visiting Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid. The guides on the walking tours were excellent and very knowledgeable. We especially liked Josep who took us through the old quarter of Valencia. He made it not only interesting but held our attention. The private cooking class in Valencia was wonderful also. We had an enjoyable evening making authentic paella, a Spanish omelet and a delicious sponge cake. In Madrid, my favorite thing to do was to see the flamenco show. It was performed with such passion.
Really the whole trip was great and we really appreciated both James and Rocio for all their assistance in making our trip a reality.

Planning a trip is fun but complicated. Communicating taste and expectations with someone that you’ve never met is tricky. Not with Luis. He asked all the right questions to ensure the trip was one of a lifetime. Luis helped me navigate all the wonderful places to visit in Spain. He was also able to help when life happened to plans, switching flights and locations when unexpected things came up. It was a pleasure working with Luis.

Very well thought out trip plan, great picks for both our hotels and activities. Beatriz, our local specialist really catered to our needs and was very helpful whenever we contacted her.

James put together a customized itinerary that was tailored to our interests. He listened carefully to what we were looking for, presented an itinerary, and worked closely with us to tweak it until it was perfect! Our drivers and guides made our vacation stress free and very informative. Most memorable were our cooking class in Barcelona, our “Cultural Triathlon” and flamenco night in Sevilla, hiking the Caminito del Rey, and visiting the Alhambra in Granada. Each hotel was beautiful in its own way. I especially loved our hotels in Sevilla and Granada!
Once we arrived in Spain, James or a member of his team were always available and checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was going well. We really appreciated that!
I would absolutely recommend KimKim and specifically Tailor Made Andalucia if you are planning to travel to Spain!

Perfect location for walking around the city. Tucked away from the noise on a small pedestrian street with lots of charm! Very peaceful, beautiful courtyard where afternoon tea and sweets are served… a really nice touch and much appreciated! Nice breakfast buffet as well. No elevator, so ask for help if your room is at the top of the stairs and your bags are heavy!

Great experience! Class of 12 included retirees, a family of 6, and 4 others including us. Our chef took us shopping for the ingredients at the big market and gave us a tour of the market which was an unexpected perk. We made many different dishes and then sat at a big table to enjoy the meal. It was a unique experience, one of the highlights of our trip.

Our guide, Pilar, was exceptional. She clearly loves her city and loves to share its history and its charms! The horse drawn carriage picked us up at our hotel and took us to the Plaza de Espana. After the ride was finished, we walked to the river where our boat was waiting! The boat took us to Triana, where we learned some of the history, walked through the market, and did some shopping. It was a great trip!

This hotel served it's purpose for us as a place to stay near the airport so we could more easily make our early morning flight home. I strenuously object to their "free airport shuttle". It is first come, first served. The hotel houses about 800 guests, yet their shuttles (which run only every half hour) carry about 25 people at maximum. When the shuttle is at maximum it is extremely unsafe as there are enough seats for about 12 people and luggage. That means that the other thirteen people are standing in the aisles with suitcases piled up 4 and 5 high. It was awful! I don't understand how Marriott could condone such a practice in a hotel that caters to the airport trade.

This hotel is a bit outside of town, but totally worth the drive. Amazing views, cozy rooms, and extremely friendly staff made it all worth it. The hotel has been a family since the 17th century making olive oil and I loved that we had it at breakfast and was able to purchase some to bring home.

We are so happy with the trip that Marina help plan for us. It was a 2 week tour of Spain which was curated for our family of four - where we wanted to see great architecture and museums, eat great food and learn about the amazing and varied culture throughout Spain.

Highlights included our guides in San Sebastián - Diego and Toledo - Javi. Both were extremely personable, passionate about their city, and were great with our two boys.

Accommodation were excellent - always in the heart of the city allowing for walking everywhere. In particular, Hotel Palacio in Granada offered the most stunning view of the Alhambra.

Mariana was extremely attentive, making changes on the fly as needed. In particular when accommodations were not appropriate in Bilboa (non adjoining rooms), she was able to switch us to a different hotel within minutes.

Overall an amazing experience!
