Apótek Hotel by Keahotels, Reykjavík

Apótek Hotel has transformed a historic building into the home of a contemporary boutique hotel in the middle of downtown Reykjavík. Former State Architect and pioneer Guðjón Samúelsson designed this 1917 building, originally home to the Reykjavík Apothecary. Travel back in time with a number of fantastic original elements, all while enjoying convenient access to the city's major attractions. The hotel's 45 rooms and suites combine a modern aesthetic of neutral tones and minimalist furniture with beautifully preserved original Art Nouveau elements like curved walls, a marble staircase, and hardwood floors. Standard Rooms run quite small, so consider booking a Deluxe or Suite for extra space. The three-story Tower Suite is the largest, with a seating area and an attic-style bathroom with a bathtub. Bathrooms are tastefully done in all-white tiles and offer rainfall showerheads.
