Boutique Hotel Ses Bruixes, Menorca
Refined historic boutique hotel in central Mahón with a spa, on-site restaurant, and garden terrace
Overview
Kimkim's Take
Pros
- Stay in the very center of Mahón and within walking distance of sites like the port, cathedral, Plaça d'Espanya, city markets, and numerous bars, cafés, and restaurants.
- The hotel is historic and charming, with quaint details like stone walls, arched ceilings, tile flooring, and a picturesque courtyard with orange trees and fragrant plants.
- The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, and dinner with a focus on local products and sustainable food. Meals are typically enjoyed on the garden terrace or in the cozy fireside dining room.
- Other shared spaces include a piano lounge and an outdoor patio.
- Many rooms feature fireplaces, private terraces, soaking tubs, antique furnishings, and light and inviting decor.
- Relax in the spa with natural heat, water, and traditional island rituals to craft a wellness experience.
Cons
- The hotel appeals to weddings, so you might want to inquire beforehand if you're staying on the weekend, as it could get busy.
Additional Notes From Ash
I definitely wanted to stay at this hotel, as it's just so inviting. It seems like a typical boutique property from its entrance, but the interiors charm you from the start. The restaurant was alive for breakfast, with guests stretching out on the garden terrace or nestled along the stone bar. The covered patio felt like stepping back in time, but the rooms with private terraces and pools sealed the deal and made the hotel a quick favorite.Authenticity
The property is a historical manor house dating to the 19th century and maintains many original elements, including flooring, windows, ceilings, and gardens. The spa is a unique treat with its many authentic health rituals used on the island for decades.Location
Enjoy a luxury stay in the heart of Mahón, along a quiet street just a few minutes' walk from the central square and city markets. Less than 10 minutes takes you to the buzzy Port of Mahón, where you'll find lots of activities and the ferry terminal. The airport and nearby spots like the scenic beach near Sa Mesquida, coves, and archeological sites are all within a 20-minute drive.Rooms & Bathrooms
Sleep well in large, cozy rooms with warm and inviting interiors, plus desks, air conditioning, and mini-fridges. Many feature fireplaces and original elements like tiled floors and/or beamed ceilings, and some offer perks like in-room soaking tubs and private, furnished terraces. The Deluxe Suites are particularly spacious and offer balconies with sun beds, private plunge pools, and separate showers and bathtubs.Amenities
Relax at the hotel's ILLA Spa, which uses natural products and elements to mimic the serenity of Menorca. Heat, water, and native stones all come together to provide a wellness experience through body treatments, water circuits, massages, and traditional rituals. You’ll also find a small gym with cardio machines, stationary bikes, and weights. If you want a cozy hideaway, then head over to the lounge with its library and fireplace to relax when the evenings get cooler. You’ll also find an honesty bar and a piano to tinkle on. One of the hotel’s buildings has been adapted to accommodate wheelchair users, and you’ll also find an elevator going to all upper floors.Family-Friendliness
This hotel is adults-only, so if you’re traveling with kids under 18, this is not a suitable option for you.Other Highlights
The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, and candlelight dinners on the garden terrace and courtyard filled with orange trees. Locally sourced Menorcan ingredients feature heavily on the menu.Like what you see?
