Dís Cottages, Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Dís Cottages offers a peaceful experience in a remote location just 10 minutes from the town of Grundarfjörður. Kirkjufell Mountain is 15 minutes away from these self-service cottages, sitting under the shadow of Eyrarfjall Mountain. This area is ideal for those wanting to experience the natural beauty of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, as well as its legends. The cabins stand in a region called Þórdísarstaðir, believed to be the home of Þórdísi Súrsdóttur, whose brother was one of the main heroes of the Icelandic Sagas. Reykjavík is a 2.5-hour drive, and Snæfellsjökull National Park is 40 minutes away.

There are 10 self-service cottages, and while they're built in pairs, each one offers privacy and its own deck where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the sea and Kirkjufell Mountain. The style is modern and minimalist, highlighting the view. There are two cabin types: the One-Bedroom Apartment and the larger Superior Apartment, which sleeps up to four on two queen beds. All include equipped kitchenettes with a small refrigerator, a stove, cooking utensils, and a coffee machine. Amenities include WiFi and air conditioning, and bathrooms come with showers.
