Pros

• The location is excellent for exploring Mallorca's scenic northern coast and swimming in its coves. 
• Most rooms have private terraces or balconies, and many feature personal Jacuzzi tubs or pools. 
• The rooftop terrace is a definite perk, with an unheated pool, snack and cocktail bar, sun loungers, hammocks, and incredible views of the sea, coves, and Cavall Bernat mountain peak. 
• Relax at the outdoor pool, indoor spa, or gym, and you can also rent bikes from the hotel or book treatments like massages and facials. 
• Besides the rooftop bar, there are two other on-site eateries, both managed by an award-winning chef and using local, regional, and seasonal products.

Cons

• Though near the coast, the hotel isn't waterfront or beachfront.
• The modern, slightly industrial design might not appeal to all travelers. 

Additional Notes From Ash 

Upon arrival, I wasn't sure of this hotel, as its exterior felt abrupt. But once I got the full tour, it all came together. The entire property strives to complement its surrounding environment, and no place does it better than El Vicenç's rooftop. The colors, materials, textures, views, relaxation, and food—you actually feel like you're one with the natural surroundings, which certainly enhances the experience!

Authenticity

The hotel might appear a bit stark from the outside, but it's all trying to complement Mallorca's rugged northern environment, with rocky hilltops, stone sea cliffs, and sandy beaches. The streamlined design features sharp lines, yet the rooms feel light and breezy, just like the island. 

Location

This hotel places you just down the street from two beautiful coves, Cala Clara and Cala Molins. Both offer beaches for swimming, and you'll find several sports outfitters in the area if you'd like to kayak, paddleboard, or cruise along the coast. Otherwise, it's a fairly remote sport in the very north of Mallorca, so plan to drive 10 minutes to reach the local hub Pollença, 20 minutes to the town of Alcudia, and one hour to Palma.

Rooms & Bathrooms

There are 10 room types at El Vincenç, ranging from standard units to penthouse suites. But regardless of tier, all are bright with neutral colors and provide air conditioning, minifridges, coffee makers, iPads, and access to the hotel's spa. Upgraded units feature private terraces (some with Jacuzzi tubs and/or private pools), furnished balconies, or unique swim-up entrances to the main pool. The penthouse suite adds separate bedrooms, living rooms, and a garden terrace with a private pool.

Other Highlights

The rooftop terrace is an excellent spot to hang out, especially with its incredible views of the area's environment, specifically the crystalline water and rocky coast of Cala Molins and Cavall Bernat mountains. There's also a restaurant, pool, and plenty of seating atop the roof. Other eateries include Restaurant El Vicenç and Bistró U Mayol, both managed by Santi Taura, winner of two Repsol Suns and Michelin Stars. You can also enjoy the spa with a sauna, steam bath, pool, and treatments, plus a beautiful Japanese garden.
