Pros
  • The location is prime: directly on the rocks lining the cove and just steps from the beach.
  • You can enjoy your meals outside on the tables that line the water, though there's also an indoor dining area.
  • There's a rooftop terrace with a small outdoor pool and a furnished sundeck with a few loungers and chairs.
  • The rooms with sea views also include a private, furnished balcony or terrace.
Cons
  • Though the hotel has been through renovations, some of the rooms and most of the common areas still feel outdated.
  • The rooftop with the pool and sundeck is a little small, so it can be tricky to find a spot during the busy months.

Authenticity

The hotel has just 24 rooms and stays true to the island's vintage tourism look. Some might see this as outdated, but its classic (though slightly retro) look may appeal to others. Marble headboards, mid-century tiling, wicker chairs in the restaurant, and white furnishing is all a throwback to Spain's golden age of tourism.

Location

Hoposa Niu's location is perfect for travelers wanting to be in the center of a village yet off the beaten path and close to numerous hiking trails. You'll find a few eateries in Cala Sant Vicenç, and the hotel is almost directly on the beach at Cala Barques. The trail leading to the scenic Punta de Coves Blanques is just steps away, as are several other hiking routes, including one to the incredible rocky peak of Cavall Bernat. Though nature surrounds the area, the main town of Pollença and the Port of Pollença are both less than a 15-minute drive.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Like many Hoposa properties, you won't find much difference in rooms here. All are fairly simple, with basic (slightly outdated) furnishings, air conditioning, coffee or tea-making facilities, and modern bathrooms with showers. But you can upgrade to get sea views and a private balcony, and suites add a small seating area for a bit more space.

Other Highlights

The rooftop pool is a nice touch, though a bit small, and is next to a terrace with sun loungers and sunbeds. The on-site eatery features local seafood and outdoor dining beside the sea. The breakfast room also offers outdoor dining and a nice terrace for guests to enjoy outside of meals, too.
