Hotel Amadeus, Seville
Beautiful family-owned hotel with a rooftop terrace with a saltwater pool, bar, and hot tub
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- As a family-owned hotel, don't be surprised if you chat with a friendly owner at some point during your stay.
- The hotel is a converted 18th-century Sevillian mansion, which becomes obvious as you explore the grounds and notice all the different rooms, nooks, and crannies, plus iron doors and staircases, unique tiling, and wood-beamed ceilings.
- The decor channels classical music, and you'll notice hints of this theme all around the hotel, as Amadeus was Mozart's middle name.
- From the rooftop terrace, you can order drinks at the bar, enjoy the Cathedral and Giralda views, take a dip in the saltwater pool (heated in the winter), or soak in the hot tub.
- Enjoy a daily breakfast buffet in the hotel's charming dining room.
- Some rooms have in-room soaking tubs or private terraces.
- The hotel is in a great location, just five minutes walking from the Catedral de Seville, about 10 minutes from the Royal Alcázar, and 15 to Plaza de España.
- Past guests have complained of ants and bugs in the room.
- Breakfast service can be slow.
Authenticity
This family-owned hotel used an 18th-century Sevillan mansion to create its beautiful, warm, and inviting space. Channeling Mozart, whose middle name was Amadeus, the hotel has a music theme. Enjoy walls of violins and historical details like wood-beamed ceilings and original tiling.Location
You'll find the entrance to Hotel Amadeus tucked away on a side street in Seville's Old Town maze, adding to its charm. You can easily walk to the must-see sites, with just five minutes getting you to the Catedral de Seville, 10 minutes to the Royal Alcázar, and 15 to Plaza de España. You'll also find plenty of shops and eateries, and the Museo del Baile Flamenco is just five minutes away.Rooms & Bathrooms
All the rooms are bright and warm, following the hotel's music theme with the decor. You'll find charming vintage furnishings and clean, modern bathrooms with two sinks. Opt for the room with the terrace or a suite with lofted wood-beamed ceilings and in-room tubs for a bit more space and a few perks.Amenities
Head up to the rooftop terrace for drinks, views of the Cathedral and Giralda, a saltwater pool (heated in the winter) with a waterfall, and a hot tub. There are two wheelchair-accessible rooms on the ground floor, and there’s an elevator accessing the upper floor.Family-Friendliness
The Hotel Amadeus is family-friendly, and some suites are ideal for families. However, with all the delicate musical instruments on display and the lack of amenities for kids, the hotel caters more to adult travelers.Other Highlights
Enjoy getting "lost" in all the lounges and lush courtyards that the hotel restored, or if you’re musically inclined, you can access the music room with musical instruments you can play.Like what you see?
