Pros

  • Translating to "house of the poet," you'll get those romantic vibes while staying in this restored 17th-century house, complete with an incredible inner courtyard patio.
  • Choose from rooms or apartments, all with serene decor and lots of natural light.
  • Families can opt for one of the two elegant apartments or snag the duplex rooms with lofted sleeping areas for kids.
  • Enjoy a breakfast buffet in a beautiful dining area, or take your morning meal outside on the terrace.
  • The property hosts a small art gallery featuring local artists and the bright colors of Andalusian craftwork.
  • The rooftop terrace (reserved for guests only) offers panoramic views of the city, including the Santa Cruz Church, Cathedral, and the Giralda tower.
  • You can easily walk to nearly every attraction in the city, including the Catedral de Seville, Royal Alcázar, Plaza de España, and the Jardines de Murillo.
Cons
  • Though the check-in time for rooms is 3:00 pm, you can't check into the apartments until 5:00 pm, which might be too late for some travelers.

Authenticity

A family-owned property, Casa del Poeta ("house of the poet") is a restored 17th-century home that maintains the original architecture of a traditional Sevillian mansion. These homes made the central patio, complete with a tickling fountain, the main focus, and you can enjoy the historic ambience here and in the lounges of the property.

Location

The hotel has an exceptional location in the historic center—slightly away from the busy sites and on a charming side street between two churches. From here, you can make your way to all the main attractions, like the Catedral de Seville, Royal Alcázar, Plaza de España, and the Jardines de Murillo.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Choose between rooms and apartments, all offering a tranquil vibe with warm neutral colors. The bedding in the standard room categories feels like it could use a refresh, and all the bathrooms seem a bit outdated. Families might like the apartments or duplex rooms with lofted sleeping areas.

Amenities

Hotel Casa del Poeta has no pool, spa, or gym, but you’ll find other perks on offer. Book an in-room massage or relax in the courtyard with your daily newspaper if you want to unwind. The hotel also arranges for an Andalucian guitar concert each night in the courtyard. If you have accessibility needs, the hotel’s common areas are all accessible by wheelchair, and you’ll even find rooms with accessible bathrooms.

Family-Friendliness

Children are welcome to stay at the hotel, and there is even a duplex family room. However, there are no special amenities or babysitting services, and the hotel’s setting on a cobbled street might make it tricky for those using strollers.

Other Highlights

You can enjoy the daily breakfast buffet in the hotel's lovely dining area or outside on the lower terrace. You'll find another terrace on the rooftop (reserved for guests only), with incredible panoramic city views, with Santa Cruz Church, the Cathedral, and Giralda Tower on display.
