Hotel Es Princep, Mallorca

Pros

• The location is perfect for enjoying all of Palma, as you'll be within the Old Town walls, next to two historic gates and the beautiful Parc de la Mar, and within walking distance from the Cathedral and city beach. 
• Rooms have views of the historic walls and/or the Bay of Palma. 
• Enjoy relaxing on the rooftop terrace with its outdoor pool, sun deck, and bar/restaurant. 
• There's a spa with two pools, a sauna, a Turkish bath, salt therapy, and plenty of treatments, including massages and facials. 
• The hotel offers parking, which is convenient when in the center of the city. 

Cons

• Though the rooms are very nice and comfortable, they have a minimalist style, which doesn't seem to uphold the luxury category. 

Authenticity

Only two of Palma's historic walls still stand today, one of which shares the hotel's name, Baluard del Príncep. You can see this piece of history from many rooms, and the family who owns the property strives to honor this heritage through decor and architecture. 

Location

The hotel's location is arguably the best in the city, as you'll be close to everything. Es Princep sits within the Old Town walls, between two historic gates, and near an observation deck. So, the city's history, views, and major monuments are at your doorstep. You'll also be about a 10-minute walk from the Cathedral of Mallorca, Plaça Major, and the city's beach, Platja de Can Pere Antoni. 

Rooms & Bathrooms

Rooms are bright, with light wooden floors and furnishings, neutral colors, and black and rose-gold highlights. All have air conditioning, coffee makers, and mini-fridges, and many offer views over the city's historic walls. Upgraded units provide more space and sea views, but you'll need to book specific rooms (higher-tiered suites) if you want soaking tubs or seating areas. 

Amenities

The hotel has a rooftop with beautiful bay views, sun loungers, and an outdoor infinity pool. There is also a spa with an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and a whirlpool. You’ll also find a wide range of massages, as well as wellness and beauty treatments like dry salt therapy and facials. Other perks at the hotel include a fully equipped gym, bike rentals, underground parking with valet service, and a library. There are ramps for wheelchairs and an elevator to the upper floor. 

Family-Friendliness

Families are welcome at the hotel, and children of all ages are allowed on the property. Children can use both pools. You'll find various family amenities available, like babysitting services, a children’s menu, infant cribs, and strollers. You can book one of the larger rooms, but interconnected rooms are also available. 

Other Highlights

There are two eateries and one cocktail bar at the hotel. You can enjoy one of the tasting menus at Zaranda, a fine dining option, or relax more casually at the rooftop restaurant, serving everything from raw oysters to burgers. The hotel’s cocktail bar, Gremium, is one of the most popular in the city.
