Hotel Gullfoss, Golden Circle
Family-owned hotel with simple rooms, a restaurant, and a cozy lounge
Great location near the geyser and waterfall. We loved the staff and this location.
Excellent care and surroundings. Would definitely stay again.
Overview
The hotel has around 30 basic and modern rooms of decent size, although book the Superior option if you'd like more space. Amenities include blackout curtains for the midnight sun and electric kettles, while families can request cribs or infant beds for free. Bathrooms have handheld showerheads that you can attach to the wall, and rooms have views of the surrounding landscape.
The common areas have a bit more character and coziness than the rooms. Grab a seat in the mid-century Scandinavian-style lounge, enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant, or have a drink at the bar. The hotel's somewhat remote location makes it perfect for seeing the northern lights, as you'll be surrounded by a night sky free of light pollution.
