Pros

• The location is perfect, as you'll be right on the coast south of Palma and with direct access to the beach at Platja de Cas Català. 
• Though the hotel was built in the mid-twentieth century, its architect used inspiration from the 16th and 17th centuries. As a result, the building itself feels like a castle jutting out of the rock. 
• The hotel protects itself from the waves with a stone wall, where you'll find an outdoor pool, walkway, and a few terraces with sunloungers and umbrellas. 
• Enjoy meals at the on-site restaurant, which offers outdoor seating overlooking the sea. 
• Relax at the hotel group's signature Bodyna Spa with a solarium, sea views, sounds of the waves, a hot tub, and a massage menu. 
• You can book the rooms with private plunge pools for a nice perk or opt for one with a private terrace and sea views. 

Cons

• Some rooms in the "Natura" section are too modern and don't seem to fit the hotel's overall architecture or style. 
• The Natura rooms also have an open concept and lack privacy between the sleeping area, bathroom sinks, and tub. 

Authenticity

This seaside hotel features architecture and design inspired by the 16th and 17th centuries. Enjoy beautiful stone staircases, wood-beamed and arched ceilings, and stone walkways bordering the sea. Plus, you'll find only local and seasonal ingredients at the restaurant and what Madrid Fusion Gastronomy Summit called the "Best Breakfast in the World."

Location

Though not far from downtown Palma, Hotel Hospes Marciel sits directly on the sea, with the waves crashing into the charming stone barriers surrounding the outdoor pool and sundecks. You'll also have direct access to the pebbly beach, Platja de Cas Català, via a set of stairs. Plan for a 20-minute drive to the center of Palma's Old Town, where you can see some of the main sites, like the Cathedral de Mallorca, Llotja de Palma, and Royal Palace of La Almudaina.

Rooms are comfy with simple furnishings and local art, many featuring perks like wood floors, exposed stone walls, private terraces, and personal plunge pools. Upgraded rooms swap private pools for other amenities, such as fantastic sea views, living rooms, desks, and/or soaking tubs. Family rooms can sleep up to five guests and include a terrace and pool.
