Pros

• Enjoy an exceptional location outside Canyamel, surrounded by trees, wildflowers, and the sea. 
• You'll receive a private suite in a pod with adobe-style finishing, with personal outdoor spaces within the hotel's gardens and some with sea views. 
• The rooms have a very relaxing vibe, with rustic, natural decor, neutral tones, and comfy furnishings. 
• You can unwind at one of the two outdoor pools, one a bit closer to the sea and both offering sun loungers and beautiful gardens. 
• There's a spa with an outdoor gym, an outdoor thermal pool, a sauna, and a treatment menu with massages, facials, and other services.
• The on-site restaurant is truly unforgettable, with its relaxed atmosphere, views overlooking the grounds and sea, and delicious cuisine. The chefs cook much of the menu with traditional methods over an open flame. 

Cons

• The restaurant is very good but expensive (the tasting menu is about $100). 
• It's nice to have the spa on site, but it's a little small, so you might not always find a spot to relax in the busy seasons. 

Additional Notes From Ash 

I felt like I was in a Mallorcan dream—out in the middle of nature with the sounds and smell of the sea just in front of the property. The rooms alone are dreamy enough, with calming neutral tones and furniture and decor using raw materials. It was impossible not to feel immediately relaxed inside the private adobe-style suites, and the rest of the property continued to impress me. Along the path leading down to the beach is a more intimate outdoor pool and probably where I'd spend the bulk of my time. But really, everything is fantastic here, and the attention to detail is second to none. 

Authenticity

The hotel's architecture is typical of the region, featuring traditional stone walls and wooden beams, creating a rustic and charming atmosphere. On the inside, you'll find locally sourced furniture and artwork, adding to the authentic feel. The hotel's restaurant serves traditional Mallorcan cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients, so you get a true taste of the island. 

Location

Set at the end of a private drive is Pleta de Mar, a hotel perfect for relaxation. The lodging is bordered by farmland, pine forests, and olive groves, offering direct access to the rocky coastline through a few different pathways. You won't find any sandy beaches along the property, but you can certainly enjoy swimming in the nearby coves, such as Cala Albardans. But a quick five-minute drive can get you to the sandy Platges de Canyamel, and you can also drive to nearby walking paths, restaurants, and scenic viewpoints. 

Rooms & Bathrooms

This all-suite hotel offers beautifully designed spaces with unique features like wood-beamed ceilings, private balconies or terraces, outdoor showers, soaking tubs, traditional tiling, and/or rustic furnishings. Some units have excellent sea views, though all rooms have some sort of outdoor space with trees, wildflowers, and possibly a glimpse of the sea. Set in pods, suites sit next to their neighbors, but with a slight curve, there's lots of privacy. To splurge, go for the most extensive suite, with its private outdoor pool. 

Other Highlights

Enjoy swimming in one of the two large outdoor swimming pools, both surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. The pool area closer to the coast curves in a natural pattern and is perfect for a little nature reprieve and sitting at sunset. The wellness center features a small outdoor gym, an outdoor hot tub built into the ground, a sauna, and massage treatments. For meals, you can treat yourself to the on-site fine-dining restaurant, which offers a la carte options or a preset menu called Aromas de Canyamel (The Scents of Canyamel). The chef behind the eatery uses Mallorca's oldest and favorite cooking method: on an open fire with unique tastes from the smoke and flames.
