Excellent choice in a perfect location between uptown and older downtown
Overview
The 72 rooms are standard with muted neutral tones and soft lighting. Interconnecting family rooms can sleep up to four, and the Family Suite sleeps three. Junior Suites include microwaves along with the kettles and coffeemakers found in all rooms. Some bathrooms, such as in the suites, may include bathtubs as well as showers. There are two ADA-compatible rooms for those in wheelchairs.
The hotel shines in its common spaces, which exude a greater sense of warmth and coziness. A small heated plunge pool is available on the roof, and you can relax on sun loungers overlooking the city. The ground floor restaurant is indoor and outdoor, with tables on the street, where you can people-watch and enjoy a tasty Italian menu. The lobby bar offers traditional Portuguese snacks, while the pool bar on the roof is a great place to have a refreshing drink. A bright gym has city views, as well as a sauna and steam room.
Kimkim's Take
- Located in Lisbon's modern business district atop the 7 hills, offering a quiet setting away from the bustling riverfront.
- It offers 72 varied room types, including studios and suites, and is ideal for families or individual stays.
- Features a welcoming lobby with extensive bookshelves and Portuguese artwork, enhancing the local ambiance.
- Provides a great breakfast buffet with a wide variety of foods and drinks, served in an on-site restaurant with friendly waitstaff.
- Rooms have comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, and workspaces, and some have balconies for extra enjoyment.
- Amenities include a small rooftop plunge pool with sun loungers, a bar, food service, and a gym with a steam room and sauna.
- If you're looking to stay in the heart of the historic district, this hotel's location on the outskirts might require more walking or transportation to reach central attractions.
While the hotel prides itself on offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, it seems to lean more towards a contemporary, business-like vibe rather than capturing a distinct Portuguese character. Guests have noted that, aside from a few touches like Portuguese artwork and the inclusion of a bidet, the experience could be likened to that of many American hotels. This isn't to say the hotel lacks charm—it does feature inviting spaces like a lobby adorned with huge bookshelves and local art, creating a cozy nook for relaxation and socializing.
Location
Nestled in Lisbon's modern business district and perched atop one of the city's seven hills, the hotel offers a quieter, more serene setting away from the bustling riverfront. Its location on a side street and dead-end ensure a peaceful night's sleep. For those comfortable with a short walk, the journey towards downtown Lisbon has opportunities to discover and explore.
Rooms & Bathrooms
The hotel boasts 72 rooms, including studios and suites, offering a surprisingly intimate and personal feel despite its size. The rooms are designed with comfort in mind, featuring comfy beds, modern bathrooms, and thoughtful decor that includes smart TVs. The suites, perfect for families or groups, offer extra space and privacy with a shared main door and individual locking doors for each room. Overall, the vibe is modern and inviting, with every amenity needed for a comfortable stay.
Other Highlights
A standout feature of the hotel is its small rooftop plunge pool accompanied by sun loungers, a bar, and food service, providing a perfect escape to relax and unwind. Additionally, the gym, though compact, is well-equipped and includes a steam room and sauna, offering a comprehensive wellness experience. The on-site restaurant is noted for its high-quality food and exceptionally friendly waitstaff, and it serves various dishes, including what some guests have called the best pizza ever. The hotel's breakfast buffet is highly praised for its wide selection of foods and drinks.
