CHEAP & CHIC Hotel, Menorca

Pros

• Though an affordable standard hotel, the property provides comfort and style with minimalist decor and lots of art from local creatives.
• Some rooms have private terraces with furniture and/or rooftop views.
• The hotel is in a historic home, renovated but with some original elements, like the facade and tall ceilings. 
• Guests will appreciate the hotel's quiet spot in the Old Town while still within walking distance from all the main sites, including the viewpoints at the Port and the Camí de Cavalls walking trail. 

Cons

• Even for a standard hotel, the amenities are lacking, as there aren't any common areas for guests to enjoy and no breakfast service (just light pastries, fruit, and coffee). 

Authenticity

The hotel's current owners bought the property in 2012 and brought it back to life. Though the rooms are fairly modern and minimalistic, you'll find plenty of nods to the structure's past in its common areas, including a beautiful facade, shuttered windows, tall ceilings, and stone archways.

Location

Nestled in a quiet corner of historic Ciutadella de Menorca, the hotel is on a charming brick street and just steps away from many sites. The city's impressive cathedral is one minute away, and the Port and City Hall are only three minutes away. You'll also have quick access to nature, as you can start the Camí de Cavalls (the path that loops around Menorca) right from the city center, and the swimming cove at Sa Farola Beach is a scenic 20-minute walk. 

Rooms & Bathrooms

As a small boutique hotel, there are only seven rooms at Cheap & Chic, all named for a natural element and offering simple white decor with a minimalist design. Despite the historic building and surroundings, the rooms are straightforward and focus on functionality. Book the Arena Suite with its beamed ceilings and plastered walls if you want to bring some history into your room.
