Additional Notes From Ash 

Now that I've seen this hotel, I know no other space will ever live up to it! The owner, Cristine (we're on a first-name basis), truly thought of every single detail, from each book lining the shelves in the rooms and the coasters in the lounge to the ingredients used in the restaurant. That's because she chose them—almost every little component. You can't help but feel at home here, and I now want to redecorate my life to follow this aesthetic. 

Authenticity

The hotel shares its name with its owner, Cristine Bedfor, who, along with her interior design friend, searched for the perfect antique decor to fill the property for years. All the rooms and common areas feature historic furnishings and decor from Menorca's past, plus small souvenirs the owner picked up on her travels. Cristine uses the hotel's surrounding gardens to create a space for relaxation and rejuvenation—perfect for a vacation in Menorca.

Location

The hotel is on a charming street lined with colorful buildings and next door to the city's Center of Art and History. A quick three-minute stroll takes you to the historic city center, where you'll find Plaça d'Espanya, the cathedral, and a few markets. Keep going another seven minutes, and you'll reach the lively Port of Mahón and its many eateries. In less than 20 minutes by car, you can get to the airport and popular swimming spots, including the beautiful Cala Binidalí.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The house's 21 rooms feature warm and inviting interiors with colorful textiles, decor, and elements, all working together to create a truly comfortable space. All units come with fresh flowers, embroidered sheets, and unique details that bring the relaxed island vibes right into the room, like wicker furniture, woven rugs, and wispy curtains. Suites and Superior rooms add sofas, and some units, like Cristine's Choice, have direct access to the garden and a little private patio.

Cristine Bedfor Hotel offers plenty of unique highlights, including a yoga lawn, an outdoor patio and picnic spot, bicycle rentals, beach kits, an outdoor pool surrounded by the garden, and a shop with handpicked items. Local favorite Restaurante Ses Forquilles is behind the menu of the hotel's on-site eatery, which uses regional ingredients to craft dishes meant to "awaken the senses." You can enjoy meals and snacks throughout the day in the dining room, on the patio, or by the pool.

Sustainability

The entire hotel lives by a plastic-free philosophy, and you'll notice this in all the details. Instead of plastic water bottles, you'll receive glass bottles, which you can refill with taps around the property offering filtered water. You won't find much plastic in your room, including within the toiletries and minibar, plus each unit gets a reusable tote bag if you go shopping. The hotel also uses native plant species in its elaborate garden, which reduces water consumption.
