Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel, Reykjavík

4.9 (7 reviews) · Comfort
Chic industrial boutique hotel with modern minimalist rooms, harbor views, a bar, and a restaurant

Overview

Ejya Guldsmeden Hotel offers a chic and modern stay in one of Reykjavík's up-and-coming neighborhoods, Holt, which is both residential and central. The hotel is just one block away from Laugavegur, downtown's most famous shopping street, and it's next to Hlemmur Square, an old bus terminal that's on track to becoming a fresh food market. Iceland's tallest church, Hallgrimskirkja, is just 15 minutes away, or you can stroll along the picturesque harbor within 10 minutes.

The hotel's style combines Scandinavian minimalism and coziness with an industrial space to create bright rooms. Canopy beds, fur swatches, and leather furniture add a sense of design and warmth. Single, double, and triple rooms are available so all travelers can find a comfortable option. Superior Rooms are larger and may have views of the water and harbor. White-tiled bathrooms include showers with handheld showerheads that can be attached to the wall.

Relax in one of the common areas, like the inviting lounge filled with leather armchairs or the cocktail bar, whose cowhide decoration is bound to make an impression. Enjoy a meal in the on-site restaurant, which offers a great breakfast and a tasty menu of local dishes.

What a cute hotel! There was breakfast, and a restaurant on site. The rooms were darling and had very comfortable beds. The TVs are not smart tvs so you're limited to like 6 channels. There's a gym, and there's a Bonus grocery store right behind the hotel. Walking distance to a food hall, but it would be a pretty far walk to downtown where the shops and restaurants are. Read more

Unique hotel. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast had great options and the bar/lounge was open late. It doesn’t have a view of Reykjavik or the harbor but it’s a short walk to the harbor. This hotel had the best blackout shades, we all got a great night’s sleep. Read more

Eyja was an excellent choice for our family! Hip and comfortable (plus the best breakfast of our 6 day trip!) It is a stone's throw from Laugavegur St, an eclectic shopping, eating, people watching, coffee drinking experience. Also within walking distance of the Shore walk. We will definitely stay with them for our next visit! Read more
