Pros
  • The central location is perfect for walking around Ciutadella, as the hotel is just a few minutes from the cathedral, Port, and main square.
  • Since the hotel comprises a 14th-century manor, some rooms have charming historical details, like arched windows and beamed ceilings.
  • The rooms are simple, but the colorful decor, rugs, and other textiles make them feel warm, cozy, and inviting.
  • You can enjoy the shared lounge with its antique furniture and unique art.
  • There's a small breakfast buffet served each morning with some savory items, plus fruit, coffee, pastries, and homemade cakes.
  • The Terrace Room is worth booking, as it features a truly memorable rooftop terrace.
Cons
  • The standard rooms are quite small, with just 160 square feet (15m2), so you might want to upgrade to a bigger unit.
  • There aren't many amenities, just a small common space and a no-frills breakfast buffet, which makes the hotel feel more like a standard option.

Authenticity

Hotel Artemisia feels like a hotel, art gallery, and cultural space in one. The owners renovated the hotel from its origins as a 14th-century manor house, and all its current details pay homage to Menorca's culture and natural appeal. You'll find antique furnishings, local art, and bright textiles throughout the property.

Location

You'll be tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of Ciutadella de Menorca's charming Old Town. The street curves around colorful buildings and puts you just two minutes from the city's cathedral. City Hall, the Port, and local markets are all within five minutes of walking, and you can reach the picturesque Sa Farola Beach in just 20 minutes. Exploring the area by car is also an option, as you'll be 10 minutes from the beautiful rocks at Pont d'en Gil and 15 minutes from one of Menorca's many archeological sites.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The rooms are warm and cozy with white walls, lightwood, and colorful decor, like rugs, quilts, and pillows. All have air conditioning, Rituals amenities (a beloved Spanish brand), and biodegradable slippers (you don't have to feel guilty for wearing them!). The smaller double room is a little tight, so you might want to book a bigger unit. Keep in mind that the attic rooms have sloping ceilings, which add wood beams but might not work for taller guests. The largest room in the hotel is the Terrace Room, complete with a stunning outdoor patio with white walls, arched windows, wooden furniture, colorful decor, and rooftop views that will enhance your stay.
