Highly recommend visiting this beautiful and unique country with so many diverse landscapes and interesting cities to explore, and doing so with kimkim / Original Travels (and if you're lucky, Lahcen)!

The trip was amazing for the most part. Our guide and our driver (Ibrahim and Hassan) went
out of their way to accommodate us; they were patient and fun and met all our needs and
requests. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time with them and would definitely recommend them or use them again ourselves. They made the trip more than enjoyable, and we had a lot of fun with them during our drive times. We stopped for coffee, stopped and bought oranges, stopped to get wine for the desert camp.... They were fantastic. Our biggest issue, we feel, involved communication with our specialist, Megan, and the communication between her and the guide and driver. To begin, none of us like "tour" vacations but with the language barrier in Morocco, especially, we opted to use Kimkim/Wanderlust. We made it clear - we thought - to Megan that we did not want a "package" vacation and that we wanted free time to explore on our own, flexibility to change plans, and did not want to frequent the "tourist trap" spots of the region. When we arrived and were taken to our transport vehicle by our guide, we were introduced to our driver - a surprise to us as we thought we had a driver/guide in the form of one person. Our vehicle was a large 15 passenger tourist van/bus, with curtains on the windows, wifi onboard, etc.; possibly because there were 5 of us and our luggage, and we also needed room for any purchases, but still seemed like overkill and something that definitely didn’t blend in. We thought maybe it was also the reason for the separate driver, since it wasn't a standard car. We shrugged it off - and it did make for lots of space - went to our beautiful hotel and settled in. The food tour that night was perfect. The next day, during the Marrakech city tour with our local guide, we were taken to specific shops, even in the souk, to shop and make purchases. This was *exactly* what we had been concerned about and didn't want; we
were pretty turned off. Besides that, the guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Our schedule said we had free time the next morning, so we figured we'd go back to the market on our own; however, on returning to the hotel, we found out there was NO free time the next morning. (We did go back that night for some more food and a bit of browsing.) The next day we went to Ait BenHaddou, which was one of our highly anticipated stops. We again felt that
we were rushed through, in order to get us to the hotel..... which we arrived at with hours to spare before dinner and bed, feeling very disappointed in the day’s activities. Those activities had included the argan oil stop, which we could have skipped, was supposedly optional, and which we thought we had also said we were not interested in. This was when we first clued in that we were basically on a scripted tour and would have to be pretty vocal in communicating our desires to our guide since they had not been communicated by our advisor. (Our daughter messaged Megan about
it, and that was also her reply). From that point on, we did so and, while he seemed surprised at some of our choices (not dressing up and having our picture taken in caftans and turbans, for example), the rest of the trip seemed to go more smoothly. I’m still disappointed in the Ait BenHaddou stop, as I felt I saw nothing but some red walls. We had also expressed to Megan our daughter's desire to be able to take a short 'hike' while in the mountains, but the itinerary left no time to fit that in even though we'd been told we would be able to. We could have gone to the gorge after leaving Quarzazate, but our guide told us we'd have to leave at least an hour earlier in the morning, basically drive an hour, have time to stop and get a picture, and then drive the other way for hours to the camel trek; we opted to skip it. All to say that, even tho we felt we had communicated our wishes to Megan, they were not passed on and the trip did not seem very personal. We felt that either she didn't have a good grasp of distances and travel time, or just placated us with telling us that we would be able to do all the things we wanted. We would have made adjustments (e.g. skipped Rabat).... we relied on her 'expertise' rather than doing the homework ourselves - the main reason to hire a travel specialist - and were disappointed. There were a couple other small requests that were also not communicated to our guide. Basically, it felt that once we booked the trip, the cookie cutter parts were pieced together to hit our high points and the personal adjustments were ignored, as were realistic time frames. Still, we had a wonderful trip, thanks to Ibrahim and Hassan. Our guide in Fes, Kamal, was superb. The services provided by the Moroccan people to those who are traveling is so accommodating and hospitable, as they work to make you comfortable and welcome….something you don’t always find in areas heavily frequented by tourists. If we were to do it again, we decided we would skip Kimkim/Wanderlust, or any other travel service, find and hire a driver/guide via recommendation, and build our own trip from scratch - basically go back to what we have always done. We also feel that would allow more flexibility in stops…. there are lots of places along the way that we would have stopped and explored were we not on the ‘tour’, and others we would have skipped. Overall a fantastic trip, though.... it all worked out in the end.

We arrived at midnight in Morocco to be greeted with a warm welcome by Ilyace who shared a bit of the history and culture of Morocco as he drove us to our first Riad of the stay. Ilyace literally went above and beyond; diligent about accommodating our needs and ensuring we got the most out of our experience. We spent a good portion of the travel with him touring all of Morocco as he was our driver to our destinations, that he came to feel like part of the gang. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, informative and a pleasure to spend our time with. Thank you Ilyace for making us feel at home in your amazing and wonderous country. And getting unforgettablely getting us the airport on time while being stuck in a gridlock for a marathon in Casablanca.
Hanan heightened our taste buds to an exotic Moroccan food tasting experience. We spent the evening exploring local taste sensations and sharing recipes and fun times. Because of her we now want a tagine! And bring home the new food traditions we’ve learned. We’ve tried to find it here and boy do we miss the Moroccan tea.
And finally Siad who was our master planner of our enjoyable and eventful trip. Siad was very attentive and informative. He provided us with all the information whenever we needed. We didnt need to contact him while there and Ilyace always there to instantly take care of anything. Thank you for your great, custom planning to our needs. You truly made our experience in Morocco surreal.
We are now happy travellers promoting Kim Kim Tours and the beauty of Morocco. Definitely a company we would highly recommend with their courteous team and personal touches to make this experience magical and forever in our hearts.
With all our gratitude from your Canadian friends: Khrysta, Jacob, Kirk, and myself Leah.

We just came back from a fantastic two-week trip from Morocco, and it could not have happened without the company and help of our driver and guide Mouad! Besides being a seasoned and experienced driver, Mouad exudes positivity and is earnest, and always tried to make sure that everything was going well with us on the trip. Every hour or so in the car, he would turn around and check in that we were "all good"! We also appreciate his focus on us having as good a cultural experience of his country as possible, avoiding too many shopping experiences, and thank him again for his invitation to have lunch with his family when we were in the desert.

Booking the trip with Majid was also a painless process. We indicated our start and end dates, some of preferences on activities, and were quickly presented with an itinerary. Adjustments to the itinerary were easily done, and Majid was always responsive and replied quickly.

Some of the highlights on the trip we would recommend:
1. Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. Just the setting of the mosque against the crashing waves was worth a visit.
2. Spend two nights in Chefchaouen so that you have time to slowly wander around and experience the town at a leisurely pace. Ask for Muhamed if you are getting a guide. Muhamed was a great guide keen on sharing the history and culture of his town and country, and we appreciated that he did not need to include visits to "artisan workshops".
3. Volubilis. The site, especially the mosaics, is impressive. We got a good guide (sorry forgot his name, might be Hamid) who is from the nearby town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, who really knew his Greek and Roman legends and could connect them to the ruins.
4. Medina of Fez. A good guide is definitely required to explore the medina. Mouad was not joking when he said we will get lost if we try to navigate the medina on our own (google maps does not work), which we tried one night. Herbal tea with Abdullah was a highlight. The tannery is clearly a must-see. Shout-out to Badar at Riad Farouzi for being an accommodating host.
5. Camel ride and sunset in the dunes. Touristy as it might be, it was still a wonderful experience.
6. Glamping at Tiziri. Well set up operation. Watch the stars and sunrise at the small dune at the back of camp.
7. Dades gorge. We did not know much about this before the trip, but it turned out to be stunning. Dar Rihana where we stayed a night is a definite recommendation.
8. Ait Benhaddou. The UNESCO site on the way to Marrakech was another pleasant surprise.
9. Cooking class at La Maison Arabe in Marrakech. Highly recommended if you are looking for such an activity.
10. Essaouira. We stayed only one night, but would definitely recommend two nights. Mouad said that Essaouira is one of his favourite cities, and we understood why we when got there. Riad Mimouna was stunningly located.

Thank you Mouad and Majid again for a great trip!

Our driver for the whole trip, Younes, was incredible. His many years of touring was great for experiencing the best places for Moroccan pastries, best restaurant recommendations, and local history/color. We stayed in Riads throughout (except Ait Benhaddou hotel), all were great, and relatively easy to access when in medinas.

Chefchaouen tour with Aalae was really very good, lots of history and engaging discussion; rooftop dining in center of city was great. Volubilis was definitely worth the trip with good guide. Fes was a highlight with great all-day guide Fatima Zahra, great food and trip to hammam. Merzouga/Sahara was great with camel ride and overnight tent stay; in retrospect, we might have swapped out a day in Marrakech to have stayed longer in desert. Ouarzazate highlight was Ait Benhaddou. In Marrakech we did food tour and full day tour which were very good; Hatim from Morocco Off the Beaten Track (MOBT) joined the tour and made it enjoyable (he also did a great job of planning out the overall tour). Cooking class in Marrakech was fun, but did take up a fair part of the day.

Overall, incredible trip, great experience, in large part due to great care from Younes.

One piece of advice I would give to travelers to Morocco...get local currency in small denominations. Everyone expects a tip...even 2 dinars for a toilet trip visit. The ATMs don't give small denominations or coins. We even asked Moha to assist with breaking large bills. Majid provided guidelines on what amounts to tip who.

I would happily recommend Majid and Moha to anyone considering a trip to Morocco!

Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca
Casablanca

They upgraded us to a suite!

Authenticity & Character
More western than Moroccan, but that was okay.
Location
It wasn't too far from the airport. But we arrived late and were tired.
Staff
Staff upgraded us to a suite. Probably noticed we were dead tired.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Double-paned glass kept obvious street noises out of the room for a very quiet rest.
Dar Lys - Luxury Riad & Spa
Fes

We had some problems with low water pressure in our bathroom, but it was temporary. The breakfast and dinner were great, but since we were there for two nights, having other dining options would have been great. We were discouraged from entering the medina at night even though the hotel advertises its proximity as an asset.

Authenticity & Character
It was an oasis in a not so beautiful medina.
Location
In the medina, but we were told not to venture into the medina on our own.
Staff
They got up with us and made breakfast even when we had to check out early.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Very nice place. Modern with very good dining. Our room overlooked the courtyard restaurant, so we heard music and ambient noise until 11pm at night.
Widiane Suite And Spa
Bine El Ouidane

It may be difficult to find a 4 or 5-star hotel in this remote area near the Atlas Mountains. This hotel looks like a 5-star hotel, but presents as much less.

Authenticity & Character
Not Moroccan, not 5-star European.
Location
Ideal location as our trip from Fez to Marakech required an overnight stop, and this one was close to Ouzoud Falls.
Staff
Staff seemed unwilling to admit mistakes.
Cleanliness & Comfort
I ordered salmon for dinner half was raw. After using the toilet once, no more water came out of any of the spigots in our bathroom. Staff had it fixed during the dinner with uncooked food.
La Maison Arabe Hotel
Marrakech

Best hotel staff of the trip. Best restaurant food of the trip. And we both got a wonderful hammam and massage at their spa. If our windows had double-paned glass like the Mövenpick in Casablanca, then maybe we wouldn't have to listen to the restaurant entertainment and client noises below our window.

Authenticity & Character
It really is a very charming and colorful place. The Jazz Bar pianist played familiar tunes and dinner could be had when we were ready. The staff seemed to treasure the place as well, which was refreshing to see.
Location
Easy walking distance to the old market square. Staff gave perfect directions.
Staff
They listened and always had a solution.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Maybe we'd ask for a room that didn't look over the restaurant.

My wife and I travelled for 16 days around Morocco. We had an excellent time throughout. Kimkim did a great job in every way.

1) The overall design was a very fruitful collaboration between the Kimkim lead Hakim Alibouche and ourselves. We had a fairly clear idea of the destinations we wanted to visit. We used one of the pre-existing Kimkim itineraries as a guide to what seemed a reasonable sequence and pace. We then worked with Hakim to turn that outline into a detailed trip plan. This exceeded our expectations. Hakim answered all of our questions promptly and thoughtfully and addressed all issues, both throughout the planning, and during the trip itself.

2) The strategy used was to have a single driver, who took us all over the country. We then had a local guide at each destination. Our driver, Abdellatif Iggui, was absolutely outstanding in every way. He was first of all an excellent, safe driver, who knew every inch of the country and of every city. He was always on time, and always knew just how long any of our journeys would take. He made sure we were comfortable throughout, he was happy to stop for pictures or a rest as needed, he was able to share a lot of information about his country, and overall made the journeys very pleasant.

3) Our itinerary follows:
- Arrived Casablanca, went via Rabat (where we had lunch, actually quite a nice brief stop), then to Chefchaouen, where we stayed 2 nights
- Chefchaouen is amazing - one of the prettiest towns we have ever seen, and a great introduction to Morocco; we toured the city in the morning, and in the afternoon hiked to waterfalls and the "Pont de dieu" natural rock bridge
- We then went to Fes for 3 nights (most people seem to stay for 2 nights), via Volubilis (fabulous ancient Roman town), with brief stops in Moulay Idriss (pleasant small city with a climb to a nice view) and Meknes (ancient capital, beautiful walls)
- Fes is very nice - the medina, the medresas, the Mellah, the palace, the gates - all quite amazing; we had the same guide for 2 days, which was useful
- We then had a long drive (~ 8 hours) to Merzouga (beautiful drive, with terrain reminiscent of the Grand Canyon), which is the staging point for the Erg Chebbi desert, which was the highlight of the whole trip; we stayed 2 nights (most seemed to stay for just one). We rode camels (~ 1 hour to the tent camp), the stargazing at night was extraordinary, then did a 4x4 tour of the desert the next day including visiting a nomad camp, climbing sand dunes, African music show, and visit to a lake in the desert
- We then drove via Todra Gorge (amazing place) to Boumalne-Dades, where we stayed 2 nights; we had a long hike in the mountains, and a walk through another gorge; beautifl scenery
- We then drove to Marrakesh, where we stayed 4 nights; 2 days for seeing the city, which is amazing - the medina with the souks, the mellah, various tombs, the central square - one day would not have been enough; for the third day, we took a day trip to hike in the Atlas mountains in a town called Imlil
- We then drove to the coast for one night stay in Eassouira, which is really lovely and a nice change of pace; we had an excellent tour of their medina
- We then drove to Casablance for our last night's stay; Casablanca is also very nice, much more modern than Fes or Marrakesh; the highlight was the Hassan II Mosque, the only one we were able to enter, which is a stunning structure in every way

4) We had very good guides in every location. In every case, they were extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They ensured we were well looked after, making sure we got to our destinations safely, with good recommendations for restaurants, that we found toilets when needed, and they helped us manage issues such as finding an ATM that would take Canadian VISA cards.

5) The accommodations were all excellent. They all served excellent included breakfasts. The property in Boumalne-Dades provided supper, which was excellent and a nice treat. The accommodations were actually for the most part somewhat more luxurious than we would have needed and if we were doing the trip over again, we would likely have reviewed the details of the recommended properties a little more closely and opted for less opulent rooms.

Overall, this was a 5-star holiday with a 5-star company.

Our journey was amazing and smooth, starting with the planning stage with Mohamad and Said, who quickly suggested several itineraries for us to choose from that fit our travel plans for the five of us ladies from Brunei.

Upon arriving in Marrakesh, we were welcomed by our fantastic driver, Sameer, who stayed with us throughout the trip, ensuring a smooth and safe experience in Morocco. Hanan, our female tour guide in Marrakesh, showed us the city's highlights and introduced us to the best Marrakesh food. We also enjoyed a hot air balloon ride in Marrakesh with stunning views of the sunrise.

We had an unforgettable glamping experience in the Agafay Desert, where we rode camels, learned to craft a tajine pot, and wore turbans. Waking up to the stunning view of the Atlas Mountains was breathtaking, and the performances during dinner by the camp staff were truly amazing.

Sameer also took us to the impressive Hassan II Mosque and arranged a quick trip to Rabat on our way to Fes. In Fes, Sharif guided us through the historic city and helped us learn about Morocco’s handicrafts.

This trip gave us a deep dive into Moroccan cuisine, including the delicious tajine, grilled lamb, couscous, Moroccan breakfast, and the famous Moroccan tea.

The accommodations arranged by the team were fantastic, and we had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people at Riad Le Pelerin, Inara Camp, and Riad Salam Fes.

We hope to return to Morocco to explore more places, like the Sahara Desert and Chefchaouen. We highly recommend using kimkim and will encourage our fellow Bruneians to book their travels through kimkim for an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I recently did a 12-day tour with Wanderlust Voyages in Morocco. It was incredible -- and I do not have sufficient words to describe how strongly I recommend Wanderlust. We had a positive experience from the initial inquiry through to our drop-off at the airport.

We chose to do a custom itinerary, starting and ending in Marrakech (where I was traveling for work). We visited Marrakech, the Boulmane Dades, Erg Chebbi, Fes, Chefchauouen, Rabat, Casablanca, and then back to Marrakech. We began our inquiry with Wanderlust with a detailed survey and Megan and her team did an amazing job of pulling together an itinerary that captured everything we were interested in, making recommendations about when/where to do certain activities, and identifying absolutely incredible riads and lodging. They were also incredibly quick in responding, making adjustments that we were interested in, and providing additional detail and information when we asked.

Our itinerary was perfect -- and complete kudos go to Megan and the team for pulling together such a stellar trip! The only thing I would change would be to add another night at Erg Chebbi (giving us two total) so that we could have a full desert day -- but that would have required a longer trip. Everything from the riads they selected, to the balance of guided tours, free time, activities, and sight-seeing was perfect. This was the first trip I've booked through a travel agency, and I would 100% do it again.

I also want to give a special shout-out, thank you, and note of appreciation to our incredible driver, Hassan Amraoui. Our experience would not have been the same without him. Hassan went out of his way to give us an amazing experience. He doubled as a tour guide, kept everything running smoothly, on-time, and hassle-free, and did it all with such positive energy & a smile on his face. We left Morocco feeling like we gained a true friend during our stay! Hassan, thank you!

Our trip highlights included:
- Marrakech & the many sights and activities that the medina has to offer. The detailed architecture is truly breathtaking, and each stop in Marrakech presents something special and unique.
- Erg Chebbi. INCREDIBLE. The rolling dunes of sand are breathtaking, and the desert luxury camp is a must-see!
- Fes was such a fun city & so, so different from Marrakech. We were very grateful to have a guide in the medina -- it's not an easy one to navigate! But, a must-see!
- Chefchaouen. A beautiful town, and wandering through the medina spalshed in hundreds of shades of blue was phenomenal.
- Hammam. A must-do! We did ours at Riad Kniza in Marrakech and it was the perfect way to relax, and wind down after a long trip.
- We particularly loved our two riads in Marrakech: La Maison Arabe and Riad Kniza. They were absolutely stunning.

Thank you Megan, Winnie, Hassan, and the many guides and riad staff who gave us such an unforgettable, magical experience in Morocco. We would love to return!

Hotel Reviews
La Maison Arabe
Marrakech

La Maison Arabe was one of our absolute favorite stays in Morocco. It was stunning. The attention to detail throughout each room in this riad -- including hallways -- is phenomenal. The service was amazing, the staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, and our suite was beautiful. We have nothing but positive reviews for La Maison Arabe, and highly recommend! It's also very close to the main square in the medina and easy to walk -- both during the day and at night -- to so many of the nearby sites.

Authenticity & Character
The authenticity and attention to detail throughout the riad is incredbile!
Location
The location is excellent -- so close to many of the major sites and the medina, and easy to get to/from. I felt safe walking around both during the day and at night.
Staff
The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive!
Cleanliness & Comfort
Ksar Sultan Dades
El Hart

The lodging options & stays in the Boumalne Dades are limited, and the Ksar Sultan definitely seemed to be among the better options. We enjoyed our stay there, but it definitely wasn't as nice as some of the other places we stayed. The room was simple, but very clean. The hot water didn't work well in the evening, but seemed to work in the morning. The food -- both dinner and breakfast -- was excellent, and the staff were very warm and welcoming!

Authenticity & Character
The hotel is authentic and has a lot of nice touches!
Location
The hotel is very far from the town center. I would plan on staying at the hotel for meals (the food is excellent!). I think that if we had more time in the area, we would have ventured out more, but we were just there for the night.
Staff
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The hotel was very clean, but definitely lacking on a few comforts that we had in other areas. The bathroom, for example, is a fully glass room, with a curtian that doesn't fully separate the bathroom from the main room, making privacy a bit awkward. Hot water came & went, but that's to be expected when travelling!
Riad Madu Premium Camp
Merzouga

Riad Madu Premium Camp is absolutely incredible & I cannot recommend enough. The camp is stunning and the experience is one of a kind. The staff were incredibly attentive, welcoming, and kind and we loved our stay here. My only wish is that we had another day so that we could have done more of the activities & exploration of the dunes during the day! Highly recommend!

Authenticity & Character
The special touches at the camp were amazing -- from the desert lounge area to the bonfire & music to the tent, we loved it all!
Location
Absolutely one of a kind!
Staff
The staff were all kind, attentive, and helpful.
Cleanliness & Comfort
This was the most comfortable camp I have ever been to. The rooms are stunning, and have amazing amenities -- especially for being out in the desert!
Dar Victoria
Fez

We loved Dar Victoria! It had such a unique, authentic character and layout, and the staff were all incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The suites are spacious and beautiful, and the food at the hotel -- both the dinner and the breakfast provided -- is amazing.

Authenticity & Character
It's clear that a lot of attention to detail went into the design. Beautiful!
Location
The location is great! The hotel is in the medina, but towards the edge, so you can easily walk out to the main roads. For the medina, consider a guide! It's tricky to navigate alone, and the maps/online apps aren't accurate. We were grateful to have a guide!
Staff
The staff were so helpful, attentive, and kind.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Puerta Azul
Chefchaouen

Puerta Azul is beautiful, but we found ourselves missing the typical Moroccan Riad at this one! The hotel staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, but you definitely get more of a hotel feel rather than the riad (e.g., with the welcome tea, tailored staff, etc.). But, Puerta Azul is clean and comfortable, and easy to navigate to the medina from.

Authenticity & Character
The hotel really embraces the 'blue city' vibe and has gone above & beyond to decorate and fit the blue feel of Chefchaouen.
Location
The hotel is near the medina, but a bit of a walk (10-15 min). Depending on the experience you are looking for, riads within the medina might be a better fit!
Staff
The staff were excellent - very attentive, helpful, and welcoming.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Riad Kalaa 2
Rabat

Riad Kalaa was excellent! The staff were welcoming & helpful, and the riad is in a great location -- very easy to walk through the medina and navigate. The rooms and courtyard are stunning -- we loved our stay here! We also ventured to Riad Kalaa 1 for dinner -- hands-down one of the best meals we had in Morocco. Highly recommend!

Authenticity & Character
The authentic feel and detail of Riad Kalaa 2 is amazing.
Location
Easy to find and navigate through the medina!
Staff
The staff were very helpful & welcoming.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Riad Kniza
Marrakech

There are not enough stars or words to capture how much we loved Riad Kniza. WOW. This riad is stunning and the service from the staff is unbeatable. The riad is beautiful with such intricate, amazing detail throughout & the food is phenmonal -- you must do a dinner while you stay here. We also loved the hammam - highly recommend!

Authenticity & Character
It doesn't get better than this! The character, the authenticity, and the experience created here are unmatched.
Location
Riad Kniza is in such a fun part of the medina, and it's very easy to navigate through/around the medina from here. We felt incredibly safe and comfortable walking around, including at night.
Staff
Incredible. The staff are warm & wecoming and go above and beyond. They are super attentive and willing to help in any way.

Our recent trip to Morocco, organized by Original Travels Co via KimKim, was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, personalized, and stress-free. The team truly listened to our specific requests and tailored the itinerary to fit our interests, even accommodating special activities like a relaxing hammam experience. They also made sure to remove any activities that didn't appeal to us, which made the trip even more enjoyable.

One of the standout features was how the trip took our health conditions into account. KimKim was thoughtful in ensuring that all activities were accessible and manageable, so we could focus on enjoying the experience without any worries. We also loved the balance between guided excursions and free time for exploration. Having the flexibility to explore on our own was perfect, while the local guides provided insightful and enriching tours when needed.

The safety aspect was also a top priority. We always felt well-informed and secure, knowing what to expect each day. This made the trip truly worry-free, which was especially valuable in a country where navigating remote areas could otherwise be challenging.

What really set this trip apart, though, was the Moroccan guide, Tayeb who took us around and was highly knowledgeable about all the parts of Morocco we went to (Casablanca, Marrakesh, Fez, Merzouga, Chefchaouen, Ouarzazate). He helped us experience Moroccan culture in a way we wouldn't have been able to on our own, from hidden gems to authentic experiences. This local perspective added depth to our understanding of the country and made the journey even more memorable.

Overall, Original Travels Co via KimKim Travels provided incredible value for the cost. It's an investment that was absolutely worth it, especially in a destination like Morocco where the logistics of travel can be complex. I highly recommend KimKim for anyone looking for a stress-free, customized adventure with a personal touch. They even gave us a free upgrade in our stay in Marrakesh for when we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

We had a wonderful female tour guide, Hanan, who showed us around Marrakesh, including the Bahia Palace, Jemaa el-Fna, and the vibrant market. Although there was a lot of walking, Hanan provided us with insightful historical and cultural knowledge. Her restaurant recommendation, Hajd Mustafa, was excellent, and the lamb was particularly delicious. A highlight was the stop at Koutoubia Herbal, where they introduced us to their own beauty products, which was a nice touch for us ladies.

Our decision to take a hot air balloon ride turned out to be a fantastic one; the views were breathtaking. The overnight stay at Inara Desert Camp was also a memorable experience, especially the camel ride.

Riad As Salam was equally beautiful, with its vibrant decor and warm hospitality. The staff was very helpful, assisting with carrying our large bags to our rooms.

In Fes, our tour guide Sherif took us through the souks and intricate alleys, sharing fascinating stories about the different family artisans who have been practicing their crafts for generations and along with it, we had the chance to shop for unique treasures. We had a lot of fun, especially during our laugh-filled exploration of the "hug me" alley.

Throughout our entire journey, Sameer was an excellent driver. He was always accommodating and ensured we felt safe, especially as we were all women traveling together. He was also knowledgeable, providing explanations and answering our questions during the road trips.

Riad Salam Fes

This hotel wows you with its public areas and the rooms. I have deducted a star because the bathrooms are in need of a refresh (shower head was old and rusty and the sing was cracked). Also the rooms are around courtyards (as expected in a Riad), but there was quite a lot of noise from children until late at night.

Cannot say enough about how well this trip was organized and the thoughtfulness of each and every person who helped us.

Noureddine - was the driver extraordinaire! We told him as well but he is a young man his parents should be very proud of. He was a safe driver in addition to thoughtful and funny. We were particularly grateful for his driving skills going to and from the Agafay Desert (those were questionable "roads") and while in Casablanca. We were genuinely sad to part company with him.

Marrakech
Hanan - was a terrific guide both for our walking tour of Marrakech as well as the food tour. She was knowledgeable, kind and showed us some very special places. She also introduced us to our new favorite cookie - the chebakia. She set the bar very high for the rest of the guides in Morocco.

La Maison Arabe Hotel was lovely. They graciously fed us when we arrived later than planned (thanks to flight delays). The room was perfect and breakfast was very filling. We enjoyed eating by the pool and hearing the birds.

Agafay Desert
Inara Desert Camp - never did I think our one night in the desert would involve a significant rain storm and thick clouds which meant no glorious sunset or stars. The one bright spot was our sunset camel ride was rescheduled to a sunrise ride the next morning. Our dinner was DELICIOUS! We were honestly floored by how yummy it was. The Inara staff were fun and charming.

Essaouira
Hassan - was a knowledgeable and considerate guide. He made the history come alive and told wonderful stories.

Heure Bleue Palais - was stunning. Our room was well appointed and we loved that the room looked out on the grand courtyard. It was pretty magical hearing from our room the little trio play into the evening. They sang Beseme Mucho which is one of our favorite songs.

Casablanca
Noureddin - handled driving us around very well and ensured we got to the Hassan II Mosque in time for our tour (which was tricky due to road closures) as well as a walk around the Medina.

Le Casablanca Hotel - a lovely hotel. Dinner and breakfast were very good and reading by the pool was a surprisingly quiet considering the city was just outside the walls.

Rabat
Noureddin - once again handled the driving with care for our day trip to Rabat. We are still talking about our visit to Chellah. It was fascinating and not what we expected.

We definitely felt that our requests were heard and expectations met. Thank you to all - both who we interacted with but also who managed "behind the scenes" - for a truly awe-inspiring trip.

A beautiful hotel that was very accommodating when we arrived late due to flight delays. They ensured we were fed that first evening in Morocco. The room was lovely and eating by the pool was very pleasant especially with the birds chirping away.

They honestly made what could have been a disappointing stay (it was a hard rain for a good part of our afternoon and evening) fun and comfortable. The dinner was delicious and the staff were fun and charming.

Authenticity & Character
We are not into camping so this was the perfect type of stay in a tent for us. The extra touches (e.g. the shop, fun sculptures) were fun.
Location
A reasonable drive from Marrakech. The next day's drive to Essaouira was very reasonable as well.
Staff
Charming and made us laugh out loud. They made us feel very welcomed.
Cleanliness & Comfort
It was amazingly clean considering we were in the desert with whipping winds that night.

Essaouira

Heure Bleue was marvelously grand. Breakfast was yummy and they took care of some laundry for us which we desperately needed. Probably our favorite moment was hearing the trio playing in the courtyard while in our room play Beseme Mucho which is a song we love.

Authenticity & Character
It wonderfully retains the glamour of old school travel without sacrificing comfort.
Location
It was incredibly convenient to all we wanted to do in Essaouira.

Hakim our travel agent in Morocco did an amazing job setting up our trip.

We can not say enough about our driver for 11 days named Said. He was our guardian angel. We felt well taken care of from the moment we stepped off the plane in Tangier, until we left Casablanca 11 days later. He anticipated our needs every step of the way. Always making sure where we needed to be. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was a great tour guide.

Our lodging was fabulous. We chose COMFORT level which was great. We stayed in riads for the most part which were beautiful and colorful and always served a substantial breakfast and more.

Our city guides in Chefhouan/ Abdul and Fes were topnotch historians. Every city guide would take us around to visit the local artisans to learn about ceramics, leather, bakeries, rug making, woodworking and etc and learn about Moroccan customs.

We enjoyed learning about wine making in Morocco when we were in the Meknes area and experienced a tasting at Domaine de la Zounia. Very enjoyable.

We loved seeing the beautiful Sahara for the first time and riding a camel. Great adventure. On our way to Marrakech we saw so much beautiful land and met lovely people. Saw where date production occurs, desert oasis, gorges, the middle and the high Atlas and more. We learned so much.

Osam in Ait Ben Haddou was a very knowledgeable guide.

Hayden in Marrakech was our FoodTour guide and city guide. He was flexible and knowledgeable. Had good connections with locals.

Our guide in Casablanca was very knowledgeable of the Hassan II Mosque describing the intricacies of the mosque and the open hearted and kind king.

We were impressed with the interesting backgrounds and all of the guides multiple language skills.

Could have used a couple of respite days but that is my fault for not planning it in.

There are so many more good things that happened on our trip which would exhaust me to share. Fabulous trip! Morocco is a beautiful country.

Dear Barbara,

Thanks a lot for sharing such an outstanding review and many beautiful photos on our platform!

I'm glad that you liked our team's organization for your trip and that Said, your driver, took such excellent care of you throughout your time in Morocco. It's fantastic to know that you felt well-supported, comfortable, and guided by a truly professional team!

I'm happy you enjoyed the selection of Riads we included in your trip and had the opportunity to experience the authentic local culture through the city guides. It's great to hear how much you appreciated the artisans and the wine-tasting tour in Meknes.

It's also a pleasure to hear you enjoyed all the highlights of Morocco, from the Sahara to the Atlas Mountains, and the unique city experiences in places like Marrakech and Casablanca.

Thank you for all your kind and honest words about our local guides; they truly are the heart of the experience. We hope you’ll carry the memories of this beautiful trip with you for years to come!

Warm regards,
Hakim

We were a group of 5 Muslims ladies coming to Morocco for the first time, and hence opted for a travel guide during the entire trip. We were greeted by Samir, who remained our loyal driver for the 6-day journey. While in Marrakesh, we had an amazing stay at the Riad Le Pelerin - Beautiful interiors, comfortable beds, and great laundry service. Kareem, Rasyid, Ismail were very accommodating! Hanan took us on a tour around the city including the hustling and bustling of Jamaa elfna, where we... Read more

Hanan took us on a tour around the city including the hustling and bustling of Jamaa elfna, where we observed many Moroccan artisans who showcased specialties of fabric, metal and wood works. She also took us for lunch at Hadj Mustafa where we witnessed the classic Lamb oven, and tasted the roasted lamb and the Moroccan tanjia. Food was superb! Would love to come back for a taste at Hadj Mustafa again. Hanan demonstrated very good details and history of Marrakesh - a bonus of having her as our female tour guide too. Samir then drove us to Agafay Desert where we stayed for 1 night for a desert experience with a view of the Atlas Mountains - an opportunity to meet and learn about the Amazighs. Great fireshow post-dinner too! We also rode the camels (My camel name was Hazza) then learnt to wear the Arabic turban - thanks to Yahya and Ridhwan who were patient with our shenanigans. We then went to Casablanca, Ribaat then finally to Fes, where we stayed at Riad As Salam who served us amazing Moroccan breakfast with best hospitality (Shoutout to Hisham and Muith for attending to us), and also got to experience body massaging. Our stay there was great, and it definitely was a true Moroccan interior designed setting. Sharif was our tour guide around Fes - where we got to see and learn, again, the rich Moroccan culture, tradition, art and craftworks that are in Fes. Sharif showed us the spiritual/scholarly side of Fes at the Islamic Qawariun University, the diversity of culture including Jewish cultures, and the hard work of people at the Tannery. Grateful to have met a lot of lovely people along the way!
Till next time,
Ain
