The ability to customize a trip, remain as independent as desired, and receive reliable help with locals while traveling is priceless. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, kind, and very knowledgeable.

With keen listening skills, Mery patiently developed a customized travel plan that met our unique desires and needs. Once booked, we had the support of Antonella, who continued to work out more specific details for the trip and actually book all of our hotels, excursions, and transfers.

During the trip, as questions or requests arose, Antonella and the customer service team responded quickly and made adaptations that really helped our family enjoy this trip. Our excursion guides were exceptional, and we would work with this company over and over again for our travels to this region! Well done and thanks for making it such a great trip!

The visit to the Penguin Colony on Isla Martillo was a mixed experience. While the penguins were interesting and the scenery beautiful, the tour of the museum at Harberton Ranch was excessively long. Many of the staff at the hotels, had no idea whether items contained gluten. It was incredibly frustrating trying to get food that I could eat at the hotels where we were resided.

The indication that something was gluten free was 'libre de sin gluten'. Some restaurateur's knew what this meant and some just said no in order to avoid any discussion.

I had to either find my own food and read the labels or eat only meat and cheese. EVEN the corn flakes had gluten. The FRITO Lays Potato chips contained gluten.

This issue should have been dealt with prior to my departure. Including representing that most of the restaurants were unaware of a gluten free need.

From the moment I decided to plan a trip to Argentina, Agustina was by my side (via texts and email) Yes, we could even have spoken on the phone, but each step of the way, she was there to offer ideas, guide and facilitate everything we wanted in our adventure. This was a different way for us to plan and travel as we generally self-drive, cater, and explore independently. However, will all lodgings, transfers, shuttle, excursions planned for us, it was easier to relax and enjoy. Meeting fellow travelers and seeing large groups with touring guides and sometimes hassled fatigued travelers, we were ecstatic that we weren't one of them. At each location, we were met with local companies for our shuttles and transfers and confirmation of tours. Very responsive companies under the umbrella of Agustina and Mater. We had a road book that was updated and confirmed each day.

Our trip included Buenos Aires, Ushuaia (end of the world), El Calafate (Patagonia), and Puerto Iguazu.

It was informative to be on the channel that separates Argentina and Chile. Guide spoke in English and Spanish but w/o much enthusiasm,

Jessica was the guide that first met us at the airport as we checked into our hotel. We were with her for this walking tour and again when we returned to BA two weeks later. Slightly confusing for us travelers as we picked up at hotels and then many stops to facilitate border crossing. Our apprehension was due to our inexperience. Bruno tried his best, but there could have been an easier way to keep us together at various meeting points. A lot of time was wasted at each check point as our group reconnected. Simply giving us a time and location meet would have sufficed.

Caro was fantastic helping us plan and reserve all of our excursions and lodging. Our guides (especially Jhon and Robinson) were wonderful and drivers Fernando and Christian were great, too! Mateo was particularly helpful and responsive with our questions… Our only regret was not upgrading our lodging. We had a wonderful experience at the Tolkeyen Hotel (modest, but gorgeous water view from our very quiet room) in Ushuaia and the Sierra Nevada in El Calafate was modest, but comfortable with good food and convenient location. But, we didn’t care for our very tiny room (and tiny bathroom) on a loud street in Puerto Natales at Casa de la Patagonia. The Hotel Fundador in the central Santiago (London-Paris neighborhood) was friendly and dinner was very inexpensive, but the room wasn’t great, bedding was uncomfortable, lots of noise at night. and the area was dirty and old (not in a quaint way). We were warned often about our safety there, too….Overall, I would use KimKim again for international travel! They made everything go smoothly and took the stress out of navigating new places. Priceless!!

Argentina is a great place to visit. Under Milei, it is on its way to again being rich and a world leader. Buenos Aires has a really cool combination of post-socialist grunge (graffiti, old buildings) and brand new cafes and restaurants. In general, all of our connections were on-time. We generally avoided large buses and groups, which we preferred for our family group of four. Each of our destinations (El Calafate, Bariloche, Iguazu, BA) were world class. We were happy with the Boutique hotels chosen in terms of location and facilities and breakfast.

We had an amazing time in Argentina with the itinerary Juan and the team at KimKim planned! This was our first visit to Argentina so it was great to have a local customize our trip. We started in Buenos Aires and was welcomed by our wonderful driver Alberto. Alberto ended up doing all of our airport pick up and drop offs from Buenos Aires which was awesome because he’s great and it was good to have a familiar face with us each time. He also gave us some suggestions on neighborhoods and sights to visit during our drive.

Jessica was our first BA local guide and she was wonderful! We went around to different parts of the city and learned a lot about the culture, history and city life in BA. San Telmo was one of our favorite neighborhoods with the food and craft markets. We also saw a Tango show at El Querandi which was intriguing and educational.

Our next stop was Puerto Iguazu where we went to Iguazu Falls on both the Brazil and Argentina side. Both are amazing in different ways and a must see! Our guide on the Brazil was Manuel and our guide on the Argentina side was Ramon. Both were awesome in making sure we navigated the parks and customs flawlessly. Highly suggest the Gran Aventura boat ride on the Argentina side if you don’t have any health restrictions - we’re very glad we decided to add this excursion. The town of Puerto Iguazu was also very cool to experience. On one hand, there’s a touristy downtown with great bars and restaurants (recommend the Argentine Experience food and wine tasting) and on the other, you have Guarani villages that you can visit (highly recommend horseback riding with Beto and Alberto at Cabalgata ecológica del indio solitario).

We also visited Salta and Purmamarca. Salta was a bigger city with bars, restaurants and shops. One day here was enough to walk around, go on the cable car to Cerro de San Bernardo and see the sites. The next day, we were picked up by our guide Federico who was super fun and knowledgeable. He took us to San Antonio de Los Cobres (small mining town) and Salinas Grandes (salt flats). We drove along the scenic route 40 and saw a lot of locals from the mountains and farms. We saw all the Llamas, Vicuñas and Donkeys :)

To our pleasant surprise, Federico was back the next day as our guide! We saw the 7 color mountains and 14 color mountains. Federico shared a lot about the people and culture from the area and it was such a great experience to learn from him.

Our last day back at Buenos Aires was perhaps one of the best. We visited the Boedo neighborhood with Graciela and Pierre, our local guide/dinner host. It was so rewarding to meet them, their sons and their pets! They showed us how to make empanadas and we had a wonderful home cooked meal with them.

As for hotels, most were good. Our favorite hotel was Mine Boutique Hotel in Buenos Aires. This was closest to what we would expect of a 4 star boutique hotel. Awwa in BA was spacious but didn’t have much ambiance. La Reserva in Puerto Iguazu was a nice resort with a nice room and was literally in the jungle. My only reservation here is that the bathroom was not too new - it didn’t match the rest of the resort. Villa Vicuña in Salta had a very nice bathroom with an older colonial boutique room. Purmamarca had amazing views from the hotel room and a wonderful balcony. The bathroom again was not as good and there was no A/C if that’s a concern. Overall, we selected boutique hotels as our lodging option and believe that that’s what was arranged for us.

One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to get to know locals and see the culture from as much of a non tourist perspective as possible. KimKim did a wonderful job with this - especially with the Graciela and Pierre.

I would definitely recommend KimKim if it is your first time to a city or country. They gave great suggestions and the logistics were seamless. Drivers were always on time, excursions were confirmed and local flights were at times that helped maximize our day. Thank you Juan and Joaquin!

We loved our tour of our Buenos Aires and igazu falls. Johanna was a wondrous specialist resolved all the issues that came up as with travel they always do. Loved the casa Joseph in Buenos Aires bike tour, the city was really a lot of good information and fun. Would highly recommend taking in the tango show. And to do empanadas later in the day after the tango show was really good timing. Anyway it would gladly do this again Read more

Physically a nice enough Hotel. Very well set up has pool. It's clean. It's big. The beds are comfy. The staff's attitude is crummy and for that reason I would not stay there again

Authenticity & Character
New hotels have very little character

I was super impressed by the dancers and the way that this show was put together covering the 1920s through the indigenous people and the sounds of the Andes from the pipes they played

Really enjoyed our tour with Pablo our guide. We were the only two we had plenty of time with him. We learned a significant amount of the history of the city and of course the river, the peoples that settled there. I always appreciate getting that kind of information it gives you a feeling for what the city was and has become. Lot of architecture and of course tours of the parks which are really overwhelmingly frequent in Buenos Aires

Remota Patagonia Lodge
Puerto Natales

The Remota Patagonia Lodge in Puerto Natales was absolutely lovely. The ambiance and service were excellent, making our stay enjoyable and relaxing.

Hosteria El Paraiso
El Chalten

Hosteria El Paraiso in El Chaltén was not as comfortable as expected due to the lack of air conditioning. The hot weather made it difficult to sleep peacefully. It would have been helpful to know this in advance, as I could have brought a small fan. However, the location itself was beautiful.

Full-Day Trek to the Base of Torres del Paine
Full-Day Trek to the Base of Torres del Paine
Argentina

The Full-Day Trek to the Base of Torres del Paine was quite interesting. We ended up walking the trail on our own as the guide allowed us to break off due to our quicker pace and the large number of hikers. The guide wasn't necessary since the hike was straightforward, and we felt that only transportation was needed, as the guided aspect was minimal and mostly in Spanish.
