Our trip to Sri Lanka was wonderful. Dhanushka was a joy to work with in planning the perfect trip, and he even came to meet us in Colombo. Our guide Ajit and driver Bandu were also fantastic. We went to Colombo, Dambulla, Polonnurawa, Mineriya, Kandy, and the hill country. I think my favorite parts were the elephant safari in Mineriya and the Cave Temples in Dambulla. All of the accommodations were great. It was also very affordable! I highly recommend Dhanushka and Koon Holidays!

Honestly, I can write an essay on my incredible experience with Rita Pagano, our trip specialist to Spain. The tours and experiences she designed for us, including the guides she appointed, private transfers, train rides, restaurant suggestions - it was a 10 star Spain vacation!

Rita is very skilled at understanding her client’s preferences. Within a couple of chat exchanges on their portal, she very grasped what I am looking for, and the kind of balanced experience I was interested. Within a few hours, she put together a draft plan, which was 70% ready, and then we iterated to fine tune. I should add, I am very picky when it comes to hotel quality (very used to Marriott Bonvoy), but she identified some boutique and local options that truly enhanced our experience, and was able to add along free breakfasts, extended stays etc., which made it so helpful.
To top it all were the guides she selected – Carla for the Tapas crawl in Barcelona, Anna for Gaudi tour in Barcelona, Julia’s kayaking/snorkeling trip in Costa Brava, Andres for architecture tour in Seville, even Adrian’s tuktuk tour in Valencia were all very enjoyable. Most of the guides were history or architecture majors and brought their passion into the tours. All I shared with Rita was that we want a balanced experience of Spain touching adventure, architecture, culture, food and people – the rest she designed it all, and it was well beyond our imagination! The activities were custom to our liking and rigor.

Above all, I would say Rita is patient, responsive and provided outstanding on-ground support, in a way that I did not expect. Everything was seamless, and if a few things did not work out, Rita jumped in and sorted things out (some times even working outside her office hours). Despite us not speaking on the phone even once, let alone meeting, Rita made us feel assured and was responsive beyond my imagination. I found Kimkim through TripAdvisor, and was initially skeptical about its legitimacy. But I cannot wait to book my trip with them again.

A quaint, European hotel in the hub of Valencia with great access to food and landmarks. Excellent value for money and great staff. They were very accommodating with our unique requests. The rooms are very clean and have modern amenities. The breakfast buffet was very good - in fact, much better than some of the 5 stars. We did have a bit of an issue with their ventilation system at times - there was a trapped odor during times of the day.

If you want to live in an apartment with your kitchen, laundry and have a couple of rooms (good for family or small groups), then this ideal. Located minutes from all the key places in Barcelona, with an outstanding staff, these are sleek apartments with modern finishes. The rooms are very small though, and I would have preferred to have a door separating the master bathroom and bedroom, but overall, really nice.

Lots of Buddhist art, but I wont say they have spent their budget on common areas (which is fine). They have made the suite apartments really good.

Passeig de gracia is a wonderful street, lined with Gaudi landmarks, excellent restaurants and upscale shopping.

Best part of living in this building. I have never experienced such helpful staff, who truly go above and beyond.

Outstanding location - cannot beat this one. But the hotel itself needs to renovate. Staff rarely speak English, and are not very friendly. Breakfast was limited and the coffee machine did not work on both days (one option for the entire hotel). But the location, pool, access to beach and shops is unbeatable.

An Evening of Flamenco

The Flameco tablao was one of the most traditional and authentic places in the region. In fact, our guide told us that the artists are well paid there. so they can focus on their art. For me, this was particularly important as I am a professional dancer of a form (Kathak) that shares roots with Flamenco. I loved the experience. It was an hour-long performance (just right).

Monumental Seville on Foot & Visit Real Alcázar

Enchanting place, with a unique mix of Gothic, Moorish and Andalusian architecture. I have never seen such intermingling of cultures anywhere! A must do experience - especially with someone as knowledgeable as Andres, our guide. We had so many interesting discussions on history, global evolution, religious influences - all of it added so much to the experience.

One of the best experiences ever. Julia, our instructor, gave us clear guidance for kayaking and snorkeling and adapted the experience to our fitness levels, My daughter, who is a competitive gymnast, did cliff diving, while I who can barely swim stuck to kayaking and snorkeling , which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Given the location was more than 30 minutes away, we had to take a taxi (unless you rent a car, which is the best option). The taxi dropped us at the wrong location in the middle of nowhere. But some locals helped us find another taxi, while Rita jumped in and called the company and convinced them to wait for us. Amazing Rita again! But in the future, I'd say use a pre-arranged transportation, or best would be to rent a car.

Barcelona & Gaudí: Walking Among Gaudi's Iconic Works

Gaudi's architecture is spectacular. But Anna, our guide, made it even more special. A student of art, history and production, she is very knowledgeable and passionate about the field. We had so many related conversations that made the whole experience superb. We saw Familia Sagrada and Casa Batillo over a 4 hour period with a short break of 10 minutes. Very easy and manageable, and did not feel rushed. Possible to do it in 3 hours if you are in a bind.

Carla was so passionate about her culture and has incredible knowledge about local foods. It was very enjoyable. The selection of the restaurants and foods were fabulous. Carla also paid attention to the unique dietary needs, and took us to places with more vegetarian and fish options, as opposed to meats. Throughout our adventure, we had numerous changes to our itinerary and different activity requests, but Sharif remained positive and communicated exceptionally well. His patience was remarkable, making our experience much more enjoyable. We sincerely appreciate his flexibility and dedication to ensuring we had a fantastic time. I can't express enough how amazing Asaf, our travel assistant, was during our trip. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to assist us with our visa application, ensuring that the process was smooth and efficient. Loved our 10-day trip to South Africa that Petru helped us plan. Highly recommend Franschhoek and the Bush Lodge at Amakhala as the highlights of our trip. Also, loved our guide Zane through Paradise Tours, very knowledgeable and friendly. Zane made us feel safe and added to our overall experience on our honeymoon. We had the trip of a lifetime and would recommend our travel plan to anyone!

Terry was great to work with. She made planning our trip to Iceland very easy. We told her things we wanted to do, she made suggestions and put it all together. The final trip plan was easy to follow and all the information was easily available from my phone. Loved the Blue Lagoon as a first stop when we landed, just the kind of relaxation needed after a long flight. We did two horseback riding tours, both great. I think our favorites were seeing the Puffins at Dyrholaey, the black sand beaches, and the glacier lagoon at Jokulsarlon. All the food in Iceland was great - favorites included pizza with pepperoni, cream cheese and bananas at Olverk Pizza & Brewery in Hveragerdi, bruschetta and tomato soup at Fridheimer Farm and Arctic Char at Salka Restaurant in Husavik. Husavik was not on our original trip plan but it was one of our favorite stops.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. This was the only evening of our trip that it rained, and they had a pool table that we used. There is a store next door but not much else to do in the area. The desk clerk acted like we were bothering him. There is a very small gift shop with very few items. The outdoor patio was closed and under construction. We went to have a drink in the bar and there were dirty dishes on most of the tables that I cleared myself so we could sit down. The bartender was friendly. The breakfast area was very crowded and people were talking and reaching over and around uncovered food dishes and it made us feel uncomfortable to eat there. There was a tv, but we could not get youtube or netflix or any stations.

Loved this hotel. Very clean, great hotel shopping with lots of Icelandic products, clothing and souvenirs. Delicious breakfast, nice bar area that had numerous food choices, similar to a food court. We ate at the street taco place and it was delicious. Cozy places to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening talking and relaxing. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sarah and the team at High Point Holidays planned a wonderful outdoor/hiking trip to Lyon and the Savoy region. The Aiguille du Midi, the unmissable high-mountain experience! (Round trip tickets)

The Aiguille du Midi was great, but the Mer de Glace ice cave should definitely be skipped. The glacier has receded so much that you walk for close to an hour down stairs to get to an ice cave they've carved out the remaining ice, which is partly covered with a tarp to keep it from melting further. The whole way down there are markers of the former heights of the glacier going back 30 years. It is important to have the awareness about climate change but we found the whole experience pretty depressing. The path/ice cave was also so clogged with tourists taking selfies that it made for a very slow frustrating walk down and up to the ice cave. I would recommend doing the historic train up but skipping the ice cave.

Our guide was wonderful and since we went on a Tuesday, the Palais and castle were closed to the public so we got a private tour of both, which was great because the rest of Annecy was absolutely mobbed with tourists.

The bicycle tour was nice. Our guide was knowledgeable and a good group leader. The food tasting, however was a bit of a joke, they gave us a plate of cheese and a plate of sliced salami. I think the title 'food tasting' was a bit misleading, as there wasn't very much, and no vegetarian options aside from the cheese.

The card was nice to have, but we only wound up going to one museum and using the metro once.

This was an extremely enjoyable and well-organized trip. Our local guide, Federico Ramirez, was knowledgable, friendly, hospitable, professional. The two hotels we stayed at were extraordinary; beautiful, comfortable, with wonderful staff and great breakfasts. Also the itinerary was well-thought out and sensibly organized, giving us enough time to enjoy every stop and every highlight, of which the Salt Flats and the mountains of Hornacal were among our favorites.
Our one criticism is that the pick-up in which we traveled was too small for 4 guests: the three people in the back were cramped and uncomfortable.
Our Kim specialist, Agustina, was fantastic: responsive, thoughtful, friendly. Thank you!

We didn’t have many days to see as much as we could in Iceland but Eva was a invaluable resource to maximize those days. She knew where we should go and what we should see based on geography and time. Her bookings were with the BEST guides, Tomas in Reykjavik and Yuli in Akureyi making the trip go from great to spectacular. We could not do everything, but we tried! Iceland is so beautiful would definitely have to come back to see more

We saw NO whales but it has to be graded on the excursion and what it would’ve been like if we did. The RIB boat is fast and mobile and almost like an amusement park ride if you sit in front. If you want a smooth ride DO NOT choose this tour. You are bundled with warm jumpsuits to make you comfortable and if whales were out there it would put you incredibly close with just a handful of other passengers.

Solheimajokull Glacier Hike

The best excursion of the trip. Walking on a glacier through the black sand and up onto the ice and drinking glacial water off of it was dream like.

This is a good stop because it is close to many other must see items on the route we took. However, if time were at an absolute premium, you could skip. We had a great guide to give us context and background to make it more meaningful (and who captured our photo just as the geysir spouted). That’s what it is, a geyser that bubbles and shoots over every 7 minutes or so. It is an important part of Iceland geology so if time is available, it’s worth it.

On its own this would have been an amazing experience, but when measured against everything else in Iceland something has to come in second. It is still an extremely cool activity you’re doing that is well run but for the time spent getting ready and waiting to get into the water it does drag.

There are so many magical landscapes in Iceland but this park stands apart because of the waterfalls. They are imposing and worth visiting.

We absolutely loved our trip to Nepal. It was incredibly well organised by Ngima when we got there, very professional, we (mother and two daughters) felt super safe and really enjoyed meeting our wonderful tour guide Ang Gelu - who nothing was a problem for and looked after us every day in so many ways - thank you we appreciated you so much and we will be back to do some harder treks one day -Kunger our easy going porter, Amit our lovely driver, always on time with a spotless car, and city guides Lil in Pokhara and Surinder in Kathmandu. You were amazing, informative and we enjoyed our time with you.

It is people who make experiences special and positive and rewarding as much as the places. Despite being monsoon season we had an absolutely fabulous time and got heaps of really good weather too, though maybe not perfect views of the mountains. But it was lovely and green and not too busy so we really enjoyed coming in August. Just take an umbrella for the odd shower.

The slightly formulaic approach to the itinerary through Kim Kim did me have me a little worried because I was trying to do something outside the formula but it all worked out and Ngima (Nepal Myths and Mountain Trails via KimKim) was amazing when we got there. Definitely use this tour company if thinking about going to Nepal.

We loved our trip to Guatemala & Belize. We took our 2 grandchildren 14 & 12 with us. Our trip had been a long time in the making and thinking. We had ideas of where we wanted to go but we were really in the dark until we stumbled on Kim Kim and Old Town Outfitters, they made our planning so much easier. They were very easy to work with and the itinerary they set out for us was amazing. We had adventures, fun and history ending with 5 days of relaxation in Belize. We loved all of our guides ... Vini and our driver Ivan that took us to Tikal. Olivero who was a wealth of information on Mayan history and ruins which was one of the main reasons we were in Guatemala and our guide in Belize, the three of them were excellent and very easy to spend time with. Kim Kim and Old Town Outfitters worked with our budget on every level and all our accommodation was very comfortable. They suggested places for us to visit that we would never have considered and certainly did not know about. We had the best time and our itinerary exceeded our expectations. Having a guide and driver while travelling with our grandchildren took a lot of stress out of our travels and they shared a lot with us about the culture and history of the places we visited and helped us with our Spanish. Kim Kim and Old Town Outfitters provided excellent and helpful service and their itinerary made our trip so easy ... stress free and worry free. Thank you!! This was our first place we stayed at when we arrived in Guatemala. The location is beautiful ... right on Lake Atitlan. Our hotel room was two bedrooms and our beds were comfortable. It was two levels ... the upstairs had a kitchenette and two divans that were made into beds. We had a lovely patio area upstairs and could see out to the lake. The breakfast was delicious and the staff are very friendly. It was the perfect place for us to start our trip from.

We loved our room and it had an amazing door. The hotel room itself was a great design it had a wonderful stair well and a great patio area to eat outside.

Location

Right on the lake and has easy access to catch a boat and visit the villages on the other side of the lake. An easy drive from the town on Lake Atitlan where there is plenty of shops, a supermarket and a bank.

All the staff provided great service. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The dining staff were excellent even thought we did not speak much Spanish they were very helpful.

Another fantastic trip ... snorkeling in the Belize Barrier Reef ... it was beautiful. We were swimming with nursing sharks, sting rays and other fish. It was so beautiful, the ocean is beautiful. It was a beautiful hot day. We were out on the ocean and reef all day.

Staying at El Mirador Overnight camp was great. The tents were comfortable, we had one each. We were catered for and the food was excellent. It was quite the adventure staying over night in the jungle. Due to time we helicoptered in and it was a fantastic flight flying over the jungle and seeing the ruins from the air.

Hike Acatenango Volcano & Camp Overnight

This has been one of the most spectacular trips I have done ... watching the sunrise was awe inspiring! The eruptions of the volcano directly opposite us was amazing! The walk up was long and demanding but well worth the end result. I think this is a must do.

Eric and the team at KimKim were incredibly patient and responsive and pulled together an amazing itinerary. We were particularly impressed with the "Driving Plan" that accompanied each day. Having to drive several hours from hotel to hotel, they laid out terrific stops along the way. We really felt we saw A LOT of Iceland! Even the lunch suggestions were spot on - Fjoruhusid Cafe in Arnarstapi was a particular gem - and we never would have found that without KimKim. Also, the food trucks at Jokulsarlon were terrific. While the guides on our snowmobiling tour were less than enthusiastic, we thought the Katla Ice Cave Superjeep Tour with Fabio as our guide was outstanding. He was knowledgable and funny and the experience was amazing. Martine (sp?) was our guide for the Skaftafell Blue Ice Experience. She was incredible and had to attend to several "incidents" of people falling into holes and broken crampons. She was experienced, calm and everyone felt so safe with her. The glacier hike was a not-to-be-missed experience! Overall, the tour operators were top notch. Icelandic hotels are not on par with American/European hotels and we expected that, but Hotel Laugarvatn's showers are the worst things ever. The hotel overall was awful and maybe it was the only choice given our driving plan. However, the worst hotel was Fosshotel Baron in Reykjavik. In the city, there is no reason to stay at Fosshotel Baron. Dirty, broken sinks, terrible and crowded breakfast. Find another place to stay in Reykjavik. However, all the work the KimKim team put into our itinerary was exemplary and we never could have done it without them. We recommend them highly.

Everything went well and smoothly. We appreciate Lisbet's timely responses and everything she provided us in preparation for the trip. We got to see a lot with her plans and would not have figured everything out on our own. The only time we deviated from the plans was the last day, when we decided to just explore Rekyavik instead of going to the stops around the airport. Everything was amazing and I would recommend KimKim to anyone trying to see everything they can in a limited amount of time in any of the places you all plan for.

My two boys and I had an incredible experience with our trip to Argentina and I would highly recommend anyone planning to visit Argentina to work with KimKim and Say Hueque. I found their local knowledge and planning to be top quality. I found KimKim by searching for "fun things to do in Argentina", and quickly became overwhelmed on what to do and the coordination of moving the three of us around the country during our two-week vacation which led me to reach out to them.

The first reply to my inquiry after putting out our dates and things we "had" to see was met with a friendly reply. A day later I had a couple of different itinerary options to choose from. We narrowed that down and then we selected hotels, again, from several recommended options.

The trip was booked and when we arrived, Julietta met us. She immediately took us to our driver and was full of information on our way to the hotel. Julietta helped us check-in and then gave me one of the most detailed maps of fun things to do in the city, with post-it-notes, that I have ever seen. Julietta is awesome and a wealth of information.

We had a trip to Calafate and unfortunately a storm passed Buenos Aires and shut everything down at the airport. The Say Hueque Client Services was in constant contact via WhatsApp and once the flight cancellation was confirmed, they arranged shuttles and new hotel stays for us until they were able to reschedule our excursions and accommodations in El Calafate. Without their services the experience would have been a nightmare.

I work in the tourism industry in Costa Rica and clients are quick to let folks know when things go wrong or don't meet expectations, so I want to give a five-star review for the seamless and professional travel experience we received. Booking the hotels and excursions with Mery, working with Felipe before and during our stay, Julietta (Buenos Aires) and Eduardo (Calafate) as guides were the best, I could have hoped for plus all the drivers for transfers really made this a memorable vacation for us.

If you want to have an amazing stay in Argentina, take the advice from the professionals who live there. Looking forward to going back again one day. -KC

Our driver Samir was fabulous, he guided us very well on the local things to see and do, and, was extremely punctual, polite and good fun. I would thoroughly recommend Samir for any tour, he was excellent and represented the Kim Kim brand very well.
The towns and the route were mapped out effectively, although we did undertake a lot of driving, there was always something to see and it was never boring.
