This travel group could not have been more attentive! My wife and I worked with Pedro to tailor a 9 day trip to Portugal specifically tailored to our needs. We do not like group tours. Very professional Private drivers (Ruis & Luis) to and from the airports and city to city. Also, excellent guides (Riccardo)provided walking tours on the first day in each city and hotels in the heart of the historic part of the city…highly recommend! The made contact with us everyday to confirm the plans. And, priced fairly for the quality!

We also felt we should have been better informed about long walks to hotels. We DID NOT get bus drivers to/from Rome who gave us details on the trip as the itinerary suggested.
Overall, we felt it was well-planned but lacking in those "special" details that would have really made a difference.

Hello Brian,

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback.

First of all, I want to thank you for your cooperation in this trip that was planned for such an extended and diverse group of people. I am very happy you appreciated the guides and your tours, and I totally agree with you regarding the last-minute changes and late notice.

Despite the fact that your detailed itinerary was ready 2 weeks before your trip, the works in progress in the harbor of Positano - which we mistakenly assumed that would have finished by your time of you visit- obliged us to customize one of the days of your trip along the Amalfi Coast, which I understand that you liked very much at the end, and that it was the highlight of your trip.

We also had to make a second change to ensure a pleasant and stress-free experience in the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine hill, which I believe you also liked. Because we have witnessed unexpected crowds during the last couple of days before your tour, our guide suggested moving the guided tour in the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in the afternoon, otherwise the queuing time would be more than 2 hours.

These 2 changes caused a last-minute modification in your plan. This is something we like to avoid -and I personally hate when we cannot avoid- as it is stressful for me and the travelers. I am doing my best to receive earlier notice for any last-minute changes from my guides, where possible. This is actually the reason for which you received the Traveler Care team message later than usual, 2 days before your trip.

All in all, I hope you had an overall wonderful experience and that I somehow contributed to getting the best at the right budget. Italy is extremely expensive this year and I tried to select cost-efficient options and to allocate this budget in a reasonable and balanced way, definitely more to knowledgeable guides and professional drivers that can really make a difference! I hope I managed to do that.

I wish I can host you once again in Italy or in Greece, where I also specialize in.
All the best

We had some rough ideas of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, and Petru filled in the details and made the bookings. There is a lot to cover and of course not enough time to do it all, but since my first time in South Africa I was happy to see some highlights of each region. The accommodations were typically 3- and 4-star guest houses with bed and breakfast, very comfortable, fabulous food, and reasonably priced (to a visitor from the USA). Also, each was very unique and beautiful. We particularly liked the Drakensberg Cavern Resort, St Lucia Wetlands Guesthouse, and Parkes Manor in Knysna. We loved the Drakensberg mountains and the coastline around Tsitsikamma, Knysna and the Garden Route. We enjoyed the Hippo Cruise and exploring the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park (self-drive game drive to Cape Vidal) at St. Lucia. Also, Addo Elephant Park (self-drive game drive). I took probably at least 1000 photos of birds and animals large and small in the wild, and spectacular scenery. Petru was very helpful in helping us with the planning, and giving suggestions of things to do while we were on the trip. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch.

Just back from a wonderful Golden Triangle Tour of India with Bespoke India Holidays. We have begun referring to this trip as "India for Beginners" because we have realized that we have barely scratched the surface of this vast nation, and that's with a very full 8 days of it under our belts! Jay, who organized our trip, placed us in terrific hotels with great breakfasts and wonderful service -- shoutout to Taj Palace in Delhi, and Trident Agra in Agra. (We self-booked at the Hyatt Regency Mansarovar in Jaipur, which was also excellent though a bit out of the way.) Our local guides in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur (Mr. Kumar, Mr. Vishal) were amazing historians and great storytellers, inviting us into the region's rich history of Moghul leaders through visits to incredible sites and monuments, while answering our endless questions as we traveled along. This was a family trip with our two daughters (13 and 17), so we were glad to have some built-in "down time" for hotel pools and relaxation around some very full days. Girls especially enjoyed the shopping in Jaipur and the rickshaw ride through Delhi, and a family highlight was the Heritage Walk through the small village overlooking the Taj Mahal in Agra -- it granted a unique and unexpected perspective on our time in India. WE LOVED OUR DRIVER MR. VINOD. Seriously, he's a total rockstar of navigation and steering clear of cows in traffic, people, rickshaws, Tuk-Tuks and the constant honking of horns. A note on timing: Our trip was the week before Easter and at the very end of the tourist season for these areas because it gets HOT. Pack your hats and sunglasses and sunscreen, and wear loose linens for these hot days if you are planning for the same time frame. TIP your guides and driver generously - they work hard to make the trip amazing for you - service in India is unparalleled and we travel a lot!

From the first contact until the end of my trip, Ashley was the most amazing "travel agent" I have ever had! Hotels and tours where exactly chosen to my needs and communication was perfect and easy going.
I want to thank all of my guides who made this trip so wonderful, starting with the fabulous Ms Hay who showed me secret places in Hanoi and surroundings, followed by the mountaineer Mrs Lala in Sapa and Victor the cruise guy in Ha Long bay.
Mr Minh who took me on a food tour in the magical town of Hoi An and Mr Hays Vietnamese cooking class, a must for every visitor. Another highlight, the Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh City Tour with Ms Han and the day trip to the Mekong Delta with Ms Linh. You should not miss the Saigon Vespa tour after dark... super exciting, and I was so lucky to have Ms Linh at my side, we always had a pool position at the traffic lights ;-). Last but not least, Mrs Marada in Siem Reap, Cambodia, who had an answer to any question you asked her about the magical place of Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples.
I also have to mention all of our drivers who always drove carefully, and all of the cars were in perfect condition.
And of course, not to forget kimkim.com... I love the concept and will always come back to book further trips with you!

Don't skip it! We also loved the zip lining. We added on a tour of La Trapiche coffee, sugar cane, and chocolate. Lots of tasting and really enjoyable. Next we went to the Manuel Antonio area. Our hotel had a great location right outside the park with a 2 minute walk to the public beach. We really enjoyed the beach a lot. We added on a Mangrove boat tour here which we all loved. Our catamaran tour included snorkeling but we didn't see anything. I wouldnt recommed it. The water was cloudy and it was hard to swim because they didn't provide fins! Our drive to the San Jose Airport was uneventful except we didn't realize the car needed to be returned in a nearby town vs the airport. Once we figured that out the process was smooth.

This was our first time to Greece. Angela was so very helpful, knowledgeable and patient as we worked with her on the itinerary. She made great suggestions and helped make sure we got the most out of our trips. Along with tours, we had ample free time to explore on our own. Perfect balance.

The trip was fabulous!
Four nights in Athens. Our hotel had a balcony with a view of the Acropolis. It was quaint, quiet and everyone was so helpful. Fabulous breakfasts. Walking tour of neighborhoods and Acropolis tour-wonderful. Great dinner restaurant recommendations.

Off to Crete for three nights. Candi got us checked in and bent over backwards to make sure our every need was met. Alex spent two days touring us around the island. Private wine tour/tasting and private olive oil press and tasting. Then two fabulous lunches created especially for us.

Final destination of Santorini for three nights. Wow!! Another quaint hotel with amazing breakfasts, views, hot tub on balcony. Super sized room with couch. Again, absolutely divine. Sunset tour with wine tasting and then hike from Ioa to Fira. Our guide thought of everything and we never felt rushed, tired or bored. Surprise!! He made a video of our hike and recommended two fabulous restaurants to us. We immensely enjoyed both.

This is the third time we have used Kim Kim and we ONLY have good things to say about them.

While there, we talked to other tourists. They told us their guides were actually drivers and didn’t know the history of the places they were visiting. Not Kim Kim! Every tour guide we had was beyond knowledgeable. Am very inquisitive and ask many questions. Each tour guide always knew the answer to my maaaaaanny questions.

Can’t recommend Angela and Kim Kim enough. They make traveling so easy and enjoyable.

He is an avid birder and loves doing birdwatching trips. We are mid 50's, out-of-shape women, and he gently encouraged us to go further when we were tired. The result was 302 bird species seen! After speaking with Abelardo, I am very happy I chose to book a private tour and not do a group trip. I feel we saw many more birds, had a much more personalized experience, and got to see things we would not have seen with a group. The hotels Olman chose were wonderful. The only improvement would have been if Abelardo was staying at the same hotel with us every time. Overall, it was an amazing trip and we are looking forward to coming back to see the rest of the country!

LOVED the treehouse room!! We were in the furthest treehouse from the lodge, and being old and out of shape it made getting to the treehouse a challenge, but it was worth it! We loved the outdoor shower option. It rained one day we were there, so we spent the day in the treehouse listening to the rain. Coming back from dinner, we had bats circling under the tree house catching insects. The next morning, they were under the eaves of the treehouse - very cool! The paths were also slippery when completely dry. The trail was not well-maintained and went sharply up a mountain in a series of switchbacks. The gift shop, where we were supposed to be able to buy glass water bottles, had a disappointing lack of merchandise. The nightly hot water bottles were a nice touch, but they arrived too early. The walk through the jungle and over the hanging bridges was a strenuous trip. It was raining by the time we finished the walk. We were expected to immediately then transition to ziplining and be able to climb to the platforms. We decided that ziplining in the rain did not sound like fun. I felt like an outsider on this trip. We were not really greeted at the dive shop, we were not offered wetsuits like other guests (not that I wanted one, but still, it's the principal). It seems like the guides on the boat were more concerned with those going scuba diving than those going snorkeling. Once in the water, the snorkeling guides did not do much as far as guiding. It would have been nice to have some idea of what kind of fish we were seeing as we swam. Plus, a lot of the other swimmers were oblivious to what was going on around them. I had adults swim into me multiple times. It would have been more understandable if it were a child, but it was adults! The second time we were in the water, a girl was stung by a jellyfish and wanted to return to the boat. The guides pushed the group out into deeper water, away from the jellyfish, but we were just waiting in the water for the boat to come back around to pick us up. They had no way to signal the boat for the girl who had been stung.

My husband and I picked Morocco fairly randomly for our honeymoon. We knew we wanted a true adventure - somewhere completely unfamiliar to us and truly immersive. Neither of us knew much about Morocco, and the KimKim sample itineraries looked intriguing - so we went for it! Best decision EVER. Morocco is beautiful in every sense of the word. The landscape is diverse - mountains, desert, ocean, etc, the people are so kind and welcoming, and the culture is incredibly vibrant. There is a wonderful mix of old and new - centuries-old medinas are blocks away from brand new shopping districts. And the FOOD - absolutely incredible! There are so many flavor combinations and methods of cooking that we had never experienced before, and it is clear that Moroccan food relies heavily on fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional spice mixtures.

Planning the trip was a breeze, as usual. Our trip planner Yassine was responsive, knowledgeable, and definitely took all of our input into consideration. Our trip also happened to fall during Ramadan, and Yassine was a huge help in prepping us for that. Every experience went smoothly, all of our travel between cities and experiences was prompt and easy, and our accomodations were all lovely, clean, and felt safe.

Going to another country where you don't speak the language, are completely unfamiliar with the culture and geography, and have no idea what to expect, sounds daunting and overwhelming. But with KimKim it was easily the best trip of my life, and it is an experience I will remember forever.

We (family of 4, including 2 teenage boys) recently completed an 8-day trip to Turkey with Trail Travels and it was AMAZING! We visited 3 cities during this trip - Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Antalya.
The country is beautiful, rich with culture, history, and great food. I have been to Turkey before for work, but it was first time with family so was bit apprehensive how the experience would be.. but Trail Travel did a fantastic job taking care of us and customizing our daily itineraries to accommodate our interest and energy level. Berat (from Trail Travel) who I have been working with for a couple moths, found the time to come meet us in person in Antalya… that was a nice personal touch. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and easy to engage, especially our tour guide – Erdem in Istanbul, super nice guy.

In terms of the trip – given we had 2 active teenage boys, the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia was certainly the highlight, followed by the impressive mosques and grand bazar in Istanbul. The weather wasn’t the best, but nothing we couldn’t manage with a light jacket. Kelebek Special Cave hotel and Goreme Open Air Museum in Cappadocia was great experience as well. On the other end – the food tour in Istanbul was bit disappointing and we would probably skip that in future. Another reason for this – since Turkey has so much great food you end up eating for lunch and dinner. the food tour doesn’t really make sense. Similarly, the Ramada Plaza hotel by Wyndham in Antalya, though great location was disappointing given they closed their pool and game room which the boys were looking forward to.

Overall, great trip and likely we will do it again... maybe only focus on 1-2 cities next time.

Good pool including adult only pool. Lots of monkeys on the property (balconies). Lots of birds. We saw toucans on the property! The rooms were a little dated and in need of some maintenance.

Location
Difficult to get to restaurant options on foot, but the golf cart driver was able to shuttle us to the Korean BBQ restaurant, Carambola, up the hill. It was delicious.
Staff
When the air-conditioning didn’t work in our first room, it took quite a bit of negotiating to get a new room.
Cleanliness & Comfort
We had two king beds for a family of four, which was nice.
Hampton by Hilton San José Airport

Good location, close to airport, easy shuttle to airport. Pool on site. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very serviceable. Recommend a top floor room because the hotel guests wake up early and make a lot of noise above you.

The cloud forest was beautiful. However, we were underwhelmed by our guide. Expect to see more flora than fauna in the cloud forest. Spent too much time milling around the gift shop and café areas and then in the cloud forest.

Quality of Experience
More time in the park. Wish the guy had used his scope to point out more interesting flora and fauna.

We had such an incredible trip and I would not hesitate to recommend kimkim and Cami in particular. From the initial booking, Cami was really responsive and receptive to our requests and gave us really great advice. The trip itself was just perfect and exactly what we had hoped for. The Philippines is such a beautiful country and the trip was really good value compared to other holidays I’d seen. The Philippines is such a beautiful country and the trip was really good value compared to other holidays I’d seen. Thank you for everything!

Dear KimKim,

Dear KimKim,
I am writing this review in Miami on my way home to San Francisco following our two week trip to Chili. Lorena and Jesse provided a fantastic itinerary. Our lodgings and points of interest suggestions were excellent (especially Futangue and Peyuhue). On their advice, we had no issues renting a car and locating our destinations. It would have been helpful to know details of the bookings (ie meal plans) and tours just to make tipping appropriate. Thank you for the prompt refunds of tours we chose not to take. We enjoyed the beauty of this country and the warm reception we received by everyone.
This is my second trip with KimKim and I would definitely use them again.
Thank you for everything!!!

To be fair, we arrived in Pucon at the end of the high season. There were very few people in the hotel (which was good) but breakfast was super sparse as was the hot water. Great location close to town and parking was secure.

It was nice to get out and walk the city of Santiago after a long flight from San Francisco. Our guide Philipe was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. We appreciated walking the less touristy areas of the city in addition as well as the traditional centers. Chile's history is fascinating. He recommended a great restaurant for dinner as well!

This park was a 50 minute minute drive from Pucon. It is a dirt road so best maneuvered by an SUV vs a Sedan. We had no trouble finding the park and the trail was well marked. We visited during the fall so we had no trouble making a reservation but apparently it is quite popular so best to register online beforehand. At the entrance, the fee is only collected in pesos.

We visited when the volcano was under a yellow alert so we were unable to hike to the crater. Still it was an amazing experience with beautiful views of the area.

What a unique spot!!! It was a beautiful one hour and a half drive from Pucon but well worth the drive on a dirt road. Once again, best to travel in an SUV vs a Sedan. We spent three and hours investigating these natural hot springs set in an amazing tropical landscape. These pools were quite different then the man made thermal pools in other areas because of the setting and waterfall. We met travelers from all over world and appreciated the soak after our volcano hike.

This was our favorite spot!!! The location was magical!!! The hotel rooms, staff, food and facilities were top notched!! We enjoyed the common spaces with comfortable seating and roaring fire places.

We were able to visit these falls on the day we drove from Puyehyue. It was a beautiful day and despite the lower water levels due to the time of the year, the Petrohue Falls and river were beautiful and well worth the drive. We were also able to visit Todos Los Santos lake and drove to the top of the Orsono volcano for some beautiful views of the valley that same day.

This beautiful park was an hour and a half drive from Puerto Varas the last section on a dirt road. Again, not all of the trails were open because of the weather but we were able to experience an easy walk to the falls and see the giant Alerce trees. The trail was well marked and the ranger was informative. It was well worth the drive to experience fishing villages on the coast and the beautiful lush landscape and river on this hike.
